The 2023 FIBA U20 European Championship was the 24th edition of the European basketball championship for men's national under-20 teams. It was played from 8 to 16 July 2023 in Heraklion, Greece. Heraklion
Heraklion or Iraklion ( ; el, Ηράκλειο, , ) is the largest city and the administrative capital of the island of Crete and capital of Heraklion regional unit. It is the fourth largest city in Greece with a population of 211,370 (Urban Area) according to the 2011 census. The population of the municipality was 177,064. Overtime (sports)
Overtime or extra time is an additional period of play specified under the rules of a sport to bring a game to a decision and avoid declaring the match a tie or draw where the scores are the same. In some sports, this extra period is played only if the game is required to have a clear winner, as in single-elimination tournaments where only one team or players can advance to the next round or win the tournament. The rules of overtime or extra time vary between sports and even different competitions. Some may employ " sudden death", where the first player or team who scores immediately wins the game. In others, play continues until a specified time has elapsed, and only then is the winner declared. Vangelis Zougris
Evangelos "Vangelis" Zougris ( Greek: Ευάγγελος "Βαγγέλης" Ζούγρης, alternate spelling: Vaggelis; born October 14, 2004) is a Greek professional basketball player for Peristeri of the Greek Basket League and the Basketball Champions League. Standing at 2.02 m (6' 7") tall, he plays at the center position. Youth career As a youth in Greece, the first competitive sport that Zougris participated in was football. He began playing football at the age of 6, when he joined the youth academies of the Greek club AO Kipoupoli.
