The 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup qualification for the FIBA Asia-Oceania region began on 26 November 2021 and will conclude in February 2023. Entrants The 16 teams that have qualified for the 2022 FIBA Asia Cup will participate in the first round of the FIBA Basketball World Cup Asian qualifiers. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Format In total, eight World Cup berths are allocated for the Asia-Oceania region. Two slots are automatically given to Philippines and Japan as co-hosts. The third co-host Indonesia did not have automatic qualification. The 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup qualification for the FIBA Asia-Oceania region, began in November 2017 and concluded in February 2019. The process determined the seven teams that would join the automatically qualified hosts China at the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup. Seeding The 16 participating teams at the 2017 FIBA Asia Cup did participate in the first round of the FIBA Basketball World Cup Asian qualifiers. China, the host of the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup, also participated in the qualifiers despite being automatically qualified for the FIBA Basketball World Cup as hosts. Thomas James Vodanovich (born 28 July 1994) is a New Zealand professional basketball player for the Wellington Saints of the New Zealand National Basketball League (NZNBL).
