2023 EASL Champions Week
The 2023 EASL Champions Week was the pre-season tournament of the 2023 East Asia Super League, an international basketball club competition involving teams from domestic leagues in Japan, South Korea, Philippines and Taiwan, as well as a franchise team representing Greater China. The Champions Week is being held from 1 to 5 March 2023. The Champions Week was conceptualized after the regular season was postponed. The regular season was originally scheduled to be held from 12 October 2022 to February 2023, under a home and away format and a Final Four knockout stage. The winners received USD 250,000, while the runners-up and third-place teams received USD 100,000 and USD 50,000, respectively. Team allocation The eight teams which qualified for the then-2022–23 EASL season qualified for the Champions Week. Four leagues are represented for the 2023 EASL. Philippine Basketball Association
The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) is a men's professional basketball league in the Philippines composed of twelve company-branded franchised teams. Grant Jerrett
Grant Alexander Jerrett (born July 8, 1993) is an American professional basketball player for Utsunomiya Brex of the Japanese B.League. He played college basketball for the University of Arizona. Early life Jerrett was born to Lamont and Barbara Jerrett on July 8, 1993, in Costa Mesa, California. He attended Lutheran High School in La Verne, California. As a junior in 2010–11, he averaged 18.0 points, 10.1 rebounds and 3.4 blocked shots per game for coach Eric Cooper Sr. as he led Lutheran to the 2011 California Division 3 state championship game, where he posted 16 points and 10 rebounds. Chris Johnson (born July 17, 1985) is an American professional basketball player for the Taipei Fubon Braves of the P. League+. He played college basketball for the LSU Tigers before having multiple stints in the NBA between 2011 and 2013. High school and college Born in Washington, D.C., Johnson attended Colonial Beach High School in Westmoreland County, Virginia, where he averaged 22.2 points and 12.5 rebounds in his final season. Sedrick Barefield (born November 18, 1996) is a Filipino-American professional basketball player for the Taipei Fubon Braves of the P. League+. He played college basketball for the SMU Mustangs and the Utah Utes. Myles Blake Powell (born July 7, 1997) is an American professional basketball player for the Qingdao Eagles of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). He played college basketball for the Seton Hall Pirates. He played college basketball for St. Bonaventure University before being drafted 19th overall in the 2012 NBA draft by the Orlando Magic. The TNT (cellular service), TNT Tropang Giga is a professional basketball team currently owned by Smart Communications, a subsidiary of the PLDT, Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT), playing in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) since 1990. The San Miguel Beermen are a professional basketball team in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). It is one of three PBA clubs owned by the San Miguel Corporation group of companies along with the Magnolia Hotshots and Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.
