2023 Campeones Cup
The 2023 Campeones Cup was the fifth edition of the Campeones Cup, an annual North American soccer match contested between the reigning champion of Major League Soccer and the winner of the Campeón de Campeones of Liga MX. The match featured Los Angeles FC, winners of MLS Cup 2022, and Tigres UANL, the winners of the 2023 Campeón de Campeones. Los Angeles FC hosted the match at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles on September 27, 2023. After a scoreless draw, UANL won 4–2 in a penalty shoot-out to capture their second Campeones Cup title. Campeones Cup
The Campeones Cup is an annual North American association football match contested between the winners of the previous MLS Cup from Major League Soccer and the winners of the Campeón de Campeones from Liga MX. The competition was established by the two leagues in 2018. Format The Campeones Cup is contested by the winner of the MLS Cup, held annually in November or December, to decide the winner of the Major League Soccer season, and the Campeón de Campeones, held annually in July between the winners of the Apertura and Clausura tournaments in Liga MX. If a Liga MX team wins both the Apertura and Clausura tournaments, then the team automatically wins the Campeón de Campeones and will also compete in the Campeones Cup. The competition is hosted by the Major League Soccer team, based in either Canada or the United States, at the end of the summer. MLS Cup 2022 was the 27th edition of the MLS Cup, the championship match of Major League Soccer (MLS) at the conclusion of the 2022 MLS Cup Playoffs. The soccer match took place on November 5, 2022, at Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles, California, United States. It was contested by hosts Los Angeles FC and the Philadelphia Union to determine the champion of the 2022 season. Guido Hernán Pizarro Demestri (born 26 February 1990) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Liga MX club Tigres UANL.
