2023 Big 12 Conference Softball Tournament
The 2023 Big 12 Conference softball tournament was held at USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma from May 11 to May 13, 2023. As the tournament winner, 2023 Oklahoma Sooners softball team, Oklahoma earned the Big 12 Conference's automatic bid to the 2023 NCAA Division I softball tournament. Format All seven teams were seeded based on conference winning percentage. They then played a single-elimination tournament, with the top seed receiving a single bye. USA Softball Hall Of Fame Stadium
OGE Energy Field at the USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium is a softball-specific ballpark located inside the USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States. It seats 13,000 and is the site of the annual Women's College World Series. Grace Lyons (softball)
Grace Turk (née Lyons; born October 17, 1999) is an American former college softball player and a member of the United States women's national softball team. She played college softball for the Oklahoma Sooners where she won three consecutive Women's College World Series from 2021 to 2023. Early life Lyons was born to John and Erin Lyons. She was born in Bitburg, Germany, and grew up in Peoria, Arizona, since her father was an F-16 pilot in the Air force for 20 years. Her father, played college ice hockey for the Air Force Academy. High school career Lyons attended Sandra Day O'Connor High School in Phoenix, Arizona, where she served as team captain and helped lead her team to the 6A state championship in 2016. Tiare Rose Jennings (born June 5, 2002) is an American college softball player for the Oklahoma Sooners. As a freshman in 2021, she was named NFCA National Freshman of the Year, Softball America Freshman of the Year and was selected as a first-team All-American. Early life Tiare Rose Jennings was born to Maria and Ignacio Jennings in Torrance, California and grew up in San Pedro. She is of Samoan, Filipino and Mexican descent. Jennings played travel ball for the OC Batbusters, and won the 2019 USA Elite Select World Fastpitch Championship. High school career Jennings attended St. Anthony High School in Long Beach, California. During her freshman year, she was named the 2017 Southern Section Division 6 Player of the Year. Jayda Coleman (born September 27, 2001) is an American college softball player for the Oklahoma Sooners. She also represented the United States at the 2019 U-19 Women's Softball World Cup and USA Softball International Cup. High school career Coleman attended The Colony High School in The Colony, Texas. During her high school career she was a six-time All-State honoree and three-time All-American. During the 2017 season, she hit .653 with 12 home runs and 81 hits in 40 games, and she led the Dallas-Fort Worth area with 74 runs scored and 53 stolen bases as The Colony won the Class 5A state championship. Jordyn Bahl (born July 24, 2002) is an American college softball pitcher for Nebraska. As a freshman at Oklahoma in 2022, she was named NFCA National Freshman of the Year. High school career Bahl attended Papillion-La Vista Senior High School in Papillion, Nebraska. She led the Monarchs to three consecutive Class A state titles and was awarded All-State honors all four years.
