2023 BYU Cougars Women's Volleyball Team
The 2023 BYU Cougars women's volleyball team represents Brigham Young University in the 2023 NCAA Division I women's volleyball season. The Cougars are led by ninth year head coach Heather Olmstead and play their home games at the Smith Fieldhouse. The Cougars are competing as members of the Big 12 Conference for the first time. BYU comes off a season where they finished second in the WCC regular after suffering two conference losses to the San Diego Toreros, a team who eventually lost in the Final Four. The Cougars received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament falling to Pitt in the second round. The Cougars come in having been picked to finish second in the Big 12 behind defending national champ Texas. Heather Olmstead
Heather Olmstead is an American volleyball head coach for the BYU Cougars women's volleyball team. In 2018, she was named the American Volleyball Coaches Association Coach of the Year. She also served as head coach of the U.S. Collegiate National Team in Japan and as the assistant coach at the 2015 Pan American Games. Her brother, Shawn Olmstead, coaches the BYU Cougars men's volleyball team. Personal life Olmstead is one of seven children born to parents Rick and Trudy Olmstead. Her twin sister Nicole was also an athlete in high school. Olmstead is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Utah Valley Wolverines
The Utah Valley Wolverines represent Utah Valley University in NCAA DI collegiate athletics and sponsor 16 sporting programs. The Wolverines participate in the Western Athletic Conference. The school mascot is the Wolverine, and the colors are green and white. The UVU student section is called The Den. The Washington State Cougars (known informally as the Cougs) are the athletic teams that represent Washington State University. The UC Irvine Anteaters (referred to Anteaters) are the athletic teams fielded by the University of California, Irvine (UC Irvine). Bohler Gymnasium
Bohler Gymnasium is a 3,000 seat multi-purpose arena on the campus of Washington State University in Pullman, Washington.
