The 2022–23 Vancouver Canucks season was the 53rd season for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on May 22, 1970. Pacific Division (NHL)
The National Hockey League's Pacific Division was formed in 1993 as part of the Western Conference in a league realignment. It is also one of the two successors of the Smythe Division (the other one was the Northwest Division), though of the current teams, only the Anaheim Ducks, Seattle Kraken and Vegas Golden Knights did not play in the Smythe Division. Due to subsequent realignments, three of the Pacific Division's original teams (the Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, and Vancouver Canucks) left the division in 1998 but returned in 2013. The division is the only one in the NHL without any Original Six teams. The 2022–23 Washington Capitals season was the 49th season for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on June 11, 1974. The Capitals missed the playoffs for the first time since the 2013–14 season (and only the second time since 2006–07), ending their eight-season playoff streak, being eliminated from playoff contention on April 4, 2023, after the Florida Panthers defeated the Buffalo Sabres 2–1. The 2022–23 Philadelphia Flyers season was the 56th season for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on June 5, 1967. On April 1, 2023, the Flyers were eliminated from playoff contention after a loss to the Buffalo Sabres. Off-season On June 17, John Tortorella was named the 23rd head coach in team history. No captain was named to replace the departed Claude Giroux, who signed with the Ottawa Senators as a free agent following his stint with the Florida Panthers. In fact, only one player, Scott Laughton, was chosen by Tortorella to serve as an alternate captain throughout the entire season. Regular season General manager Chuck Fletcher was fired on March 10 and replaced on an interim basis by Daniel Briere. Abbotsford Centre
The Abbotsford Centre, formerly Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre, is a 7,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Abbotsford, British Columbia. The arena was expected to cost $64.7 million. Spencer Martin (born June 8, 1995) is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender for the Abbotsford Canucks of the American Hockey League (AHL) while under contract to the Vancouver Canucks in the National Hockey League (NHL). The 2022–23 Seattle Kraken season was the second season for the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise. They played their home games at Climate Pledge Arena. In January 2023, the Kraken became the first team in NHL history to win all seven games of a road trip. Collin Delia
Collin Delia (born June 20, 1994) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender who currently is playing for the Abbotsford Canucks of the American Hockey League (AHL) while under contract with the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League (NHL). He previously played 32 games for the Chicago Blackhawks between 2018 and 2022, spending most of his time with the Rockford IceHogs in the American Hockey League. Playing career Delia grew up playing youth hockey in Southern California before moving to the Amarillo Bulls of the North American Hockey League (NAHL). In 2013, Delia committed to play Division 1 collegiate hockey with Merrimack College of the Hockey East.
