2022–23 South Florida Bulls Men's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 South Florida Bulls men's basketball team represented the University of South Florida during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The season marked the 51st basketball season for USF, the tenth as a member of the American Athletic Conference, and the sixth season under head coach Brian Gregory. The Bulls played their home games at Yuengling Center on the university's Tampa, Florida campus. They finished the season 14–18, 7–11 in AAC play to finish in eighth place. They lost in the first round of the AAC tournament to East Carolina. On March 10, 2023, the school fired head coach Brian Gregory after six seasons. On March 29, the school named Kennesaw State head coach Amir Abdur-Rahim the team's new head coach. Brian Gregory
Brian Francis Gregory (born December 15, 1966) is an American basketball executive and former coach and player who is the general manager of the Phoenix Suns. He was vice president of player programming for the Phoenix Suns, and a former college basketball coach who was most recently the head men's basketball coach at South Florida. He was previously serving as a consultant to Tom Izzo at Michigan State after being let go as head coach with Georgia Tech. Prior to coaching at Georgia Tech, he was the head coach at Dayton and an assistant coach under Izzo at Michigan State. Early life and education From 1985 to 1986, Gregory attended the U.S. Naval Academy where he played on the Navy team that featured David Robinson and advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament. 2022 American Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2022 American Athletic Conference men's basketball tournament was held March 10–13, 2022, at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. All games of the tournament were televised by ESPN Inc. The winner of the tournament, the Houston Cougars, received the conference's automatic bid to the 2022 NCAA tournament. Seeds Teams were seeded by conference record (tiebreakers were not required as no teams had identical conference records). The top five teams received byes to the quarterfinals. With the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States still ongoing and the possibility of cancelled games, teams were required to play a minimum of 75% of the average number of conference games played in order to be seeded by winning percentage for the conference tournament; those with less games would be seeded below those meeting the minimum. The Memphis Tigers men's basketball team represents the University of Memphis in NCAA Division I men's college basketball. The Tigers have competed in the American Athletic Conference since 2013. As of 2020, the Tigers had the 26th highest winning percentage in National Collegiate Athletic Association, NCAA history. Kansas State Wildcats Men's Basketball
The Kansas State Wildcats men's basketball team represents Kansas State University in college basketball competition. The program is classified in the NCAA Division I, and is a member of the Big 12 Conference. The head coach is Jerome Tang. The program began competition in 1902.
