2022–23 Russian Second League
The 2022–23 Russian Second League is the 31st season of Russia's third-tier football league since the dissolution of the Soviet Union. The season began on 15 July 2022. On 23 June 2022, the league was renamed from Russian Football National League 2 to Russian Second League. The Russian Second League is geographically divided into 4 groups. The winners of each zone are automatically promoted into the First League. The bottom finishers of each zone lose professional status and are relegated into the Amateur Football League. Group 1 First stage Standings Second stage At the second stage, the teams of subgroup A retain the statistics from the first stage (points, wins, draws, losses, scored and missed goals). The teams of subgroup B retain the statistics from the first stage only in matches against teams from subgroup. Thus, before the second stage, new standings are formed in subgroup B. The Russian Second League (russian: Первенство России II дивизиона ФНЛ), formerly Russian Professional Football League is the third level of Russian professional football. History In 1998–2010, it was run by the Professional Football League. The 2011–12 season was run by the Department of Professional Football of the Russian Football Union (russian: Департамент профессионального футбола Российского футбольного союза (ДПФ РФС), Departament professional'nogo futbola Rossijskogo futbol'nogo soyuza (DPF RFS)). From 2013 to 2021 season the league was again run by the Professional Football League and the name Second Division was no longer used, the league was just called PFL. PFC Spartak Nalchik (russian: Профессиональный футбольный клуб "Спартак Нальчик") is a Russian association football club based in Nalchik that plays in the third-tier FNL 2. They played in the Russian Premier League between 2006 and 2012. History FC Spartak Nalchik was founded in 1935 and played in the regional "B-class" tournament. In 1965, Spartak won the competition and was promoted into "A-class", second group. Spartak played in that tournament from 1966 to 1970. After reorganization of Soviet league system, Spartak played in the Soviet Second League (1971, 1977, 1978, 1981–1989) and Soviet First League (1972–1976, 1979, 1980), having been promoted and relegated several times. FC Zorky Krasnogorsk (russian: ФК «Зоркий» Красногорск) is a Russian football team based in Krasnogorsk. It was founded in 1968 and played in the third-tier Soviet Second League from 1968 to 1969, from 1982 to 1989 and from 2017 to 2020, participating in amateur competitions in other years. FC Zenit-2 Saint Petersburg (russian: ФК «Зенит-2» Санкт-Петербург) is a Russian association football, football team from Saint Petersburg. It plays in the Russian Football National League 2, FNL 2 (third level). It is a farm club for the Russian Premier League team FC Zenit Saint Petersburg. History Zenit's reserve squad played professionally as Zenit-2 (Russian Second League in 1993, Russian Second Division from 1998 to 2000) and Zenit-d (Russian Third League from 1994 to 1997). FC Dynamo Saint Petersburg is a Russian football club from Saint Petersburg, in Northwest Russia. Founded in 1922, the club was one of the oldest in the city. It plays in the third-tier Russian Football National League 2. They were a regular in the Soviet Top League until relegation in 1963.
