2022–23 Regionalliga
The 2022–23 Regionalliga is the 15th season of the Regionalliga, the eleventh under the new format, as the fourth tier of the German football league system. Format According to the promotion rules decided upon in 2019, the Regionalliga Südwest and West received a direct promotion spot. Based on a rotation principle, the Regionalliga Nord also received the third direct promotion spot this season, while the Regionalliga Nordost and Bayern champions will play a promotion play-off. Regionalliga Nord 19 teams from the states of Bremen, Hamburg, Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein compete in the eleventh season of the reformed Regionalliga Nord. TSV Havelse was relegated from the 2021–22 3. Liga. Blau-Weiß Lohne and Kickers Emden were promoted from the 2021–22 Oberliga Niedersachsen and Bremer SV was promoted from the 2021–22 Bremen-Liga. Regionalliga
The Regionalliga () is the fourth tier in the German football league system. Until 1974, it was the second tier in Germany. In 1994, it was introduced as the third tier. Upon the creation of the new nationwide 3. Liga in 2008, it became the fourth tier. While all of the clubs in the top three divisions of German football are professional, the Regionalliga has a mixture of professional and semi-professional clubs. FC Teutonia Ottensen or FC Teutonia Altona-Ottensen is a German association football club from the city of Hamburg founded in July 1905. FC Eintracht Norderstedt 03 is a German football club based in Norderstedt, Schleswig-Holstein, currently playing in the Regionalliga Nord (IV). History The team was founded in 1945 as ''SV Eintracht Garstedt'', which joined ''1. SC Norderstedt'' in 1972. ''1. SC'' was established just two years earlier on 7 January 1970 as ''Tanzportverein Norderstedt''. The football department split from the club in 2003 to create ''FC Eintracht Norderstedt 03''. Playing as ''1. SC'', the footballers were part of the Amateuroberliga Nord (III) for seven seasons from 1987–1994. They finished second there in 1993 and took part in the promotion round for the 2. VfB Lübeck is a German association football club playing in Lübeck, Schleswig-Holstein in the country's north. Hannover 96 II is a German association football team from the city of Hannover, Lower Saxony. It is the reserve team of Hannover 96. The team's greatest success has been winning the now defunct German amateur football championship on three occasions, in 1959–60, 1963–64 and 1964–65. Hamburger SV II are the reserve team of German association football club Hamburger SV. Until 2005 the team played as Hamburger SV Amateure. The team has qualified for the first round of the DFB-Pokal, the German Cup, on five occasions. SV Drochtersen/Assel
SV Drochtersen/Assel is a German association football club from the municipality of Drochtersen, Lower Saxony. The club's greatest success has been promotion to the tier four Regionalliga Nord in 2015 after winning the Niedersachsenliga. History The club was formed in 1977 in a merger of the football departments of two local clubs, VTV Assel and TVG Drochtersen. First, unsuccessful attempts to combine the two had already been made three years earlier but were voted down by the members of VTV. It took until 1985 to see the new club having some success when it won promotion to the Bezirksliga. From there the club rose to the Bezirksoberliga Lüneburg, now the Landesliga, in 1987.
