2022–23 REMA 1000-ligaen (women's Handball)
The 2022–23 REMA 1000-ligaen is the 56th season of REMA 1000-ligaen, Norway's premier handball league. Team information A total of 12 teams will be participating in the 2022/23 edition of REMA 1000-ligaen. 11 teams were qualified directly from the 2021/22 season. Only Volda Handball from the First Division, was promoted to REMA 1000-ligaen. Regular season Usually, the team placing 12th will be relegated to the First Division, and the teams placing 9th, 10th and 11th will have to play a relegation playoff tournament. However, since next season will consist of 14 teams, only the team placed 12th will have to play relegation playoff matches this season, against the team placed 3rd in First Division. REMA 1000-ligaen (women's Handball)
REMA 1000-ligaen is the premier women's professional Team handball, handball league for Norwegian handball clubs. It is administered by the Norwegian Handball Federation, and the winners are recognized as Norwegian champions. It was established in 1968, and it is currently contested by thirteen teams. Larvik HK, which has dominated the competition in recent years, is the championship's most successful team with eighteen titles, followed by IL Vestar and Byåsen IL with nine and five respectively. The league has previously been known as eliteserien, Gildeserien, Postenligaen and GRUNDIGligaen. Currently the winner of the championship play-offs is granted a spot in the EHF Women's Champions League, EHF Champions League's group stage. The twelve teams of the 2022–23 season. Jotron Arena Larvik
Jotron Arena Larvik is an indoor arena in Larvik, Norway. It was opened in September 2009. The arena will be primarily used for handball, but the hall has additional permanent floor marks for basketball, volleyball and floorball. Larvik Håndballklubb, is a women's handball club from Larvik, Norway. History Larvik HK was founded in 1990 as a merger of the handball departments in the two clubs Larvik Turn and Halsen. They played in the top division since 1992/93. During their first year they were close to relegation, but managed to remain on top. They saw their breakthrough the following season, as they won the league title in 1994, and played the Norwegian Cup final. From the late 1990s, Larvik was the strongest team on the Norwegian women's handball scene over a period of about twenty years, winning the league 19 times and the cup 17 times between 1994 and 2017. Last time they lost a league match at home was on 14 March 1999 before their first defeat in 18 years came against Vipers Kristiansand on 29 March 2017. Byåsen Håndball Elite is the women's handball team of the Norwegian multi-sports club Byåsen IL based in Trondheim. The team plays in Eliteserien, the top division in the country, since its promotion in 1982. The team's first success came as a third division club, when in 1980 it won the silver medal in the national cup.
