2022–23 Premiership Rugby
The 2022–23 Premiership Rugby is the 36th season of the top flight of English domestic rugby union competition and the fifth to be sponsored by Gallagher. The competition will be broadcast by BT Sport for the tenth successive season with six league season games and the final also simulcast free-to-air by ITV. Highlights of each weekend's games are to be shown on ITV with extended highlights on BT Sport. The reigning champions entering the season are Leicester Tigers, who claimed their 11th league title after winning the 2022 final. No team was promoted as champions from the 2021–22 RFU Championship. Due to changes to the global rugby calendar implemented in 2020 and to allow more time for preparation for the World Cup, the season will start and finish earlier than previous seasons and take place over a slightly reduced timeframe of 38 weeks. Worcester Warriors Rugby Football Club is a professional rugby union club, based in Worcester, England, that is currently in Administration (law), administration and which has been suspended and will be relegated from Premiership Rugby, the top division of domestic rugby. Founded in 1871, in 1975 they moved to their most recent home, Sixways Stadium, located to the north of the city. The team colours are gold and blue. Leicester Tigers (officially Leicester Football Club) are a professional rugby union club based in Leicester, England. They play in Premiership Rugby, England's top division of rugby. Johann Christoffel van Graan (born 18 March 1980) is a South African rugby union coach, currently the head coach for Bath. Coaching career Van Graan did not have any top level playing career. London Irish RFC is a professional rugby union club which competes in the Premiership, the top division of English rugby union. The club has also competed in the Anglo-Welsh Cup, the European Champions Cup and European Challenge Cup. Gloucester Rugby are a professional rugby union club based in the West Country city of Gloucester, England. The club's first team are the current champions of the RFU Championship but will remain in that league due to ineligibility for promotion to Premiership Rugby. RFU Championship
The RFU Championship is an English rugby union competition comprising twelve clubs. It is the second level of men’s English rugby and is played by both professional and semi-professional players.
