2022–23 Moldovan Cup
The 2022–23 Moldovan Cup ( ro, Cupa Moldovei) was the 32nd season of the annual Moldovan Association football, football cup competition. The competition started on 17 August 2022 with the preliminary round and concluded with the final on 28 May 2023. Format and Schedule In the preliminary round and the first two rounds proper ties are formed on a geographical basis and there is no draw. Participating clubs The following teams qualified for the competition: Preliminary round 8 clubs from the 2022–23 Moldovan Liga 2, Liga 2 entered this round. Teams that finished higher on the league in the previous season played their ties away. 17 clubs from the 2022–23 Moldovan Liga 2, Liga 2 received a Bye (sports), bye for the preliminary round. FC Speranța Drochia
FC Speranța Drochia is a Moldovan football club based in Drochia. They play in the Moldovan Liga 1, the second tier of Moldovan football. History Founded in 1976, the club spent two seasons in the Soviet Second League, after which it played in the football championship of the Moldavian SSR. After Moldova's independence in 1991, Speranța played in the first three seasons of the Moldovan second tier, before the club was dissolved in 1996. In 2007, the club was revived as CS Drochia, playing in the third tier. In July 2016 the club returned to the old name Speranța Drochia, and in 2018 it was promoted to the second tier. In 2022, Speranța finished in 11th place out of 12 teams and were to be relegated back to the third tier. However, they kept their place in the league after another team, Iskra Rîbnița, were voluntarily relegated. Fotbal Club Municipal Ungheni, commonly known as FCM Ungheni, is a Moldovan football club based in Ungheni, Moldova. They were founded in 2000 and they play in the Moldovan Liga 1, the second division in Moldovan football. History The club was found in 2000 by the local authorities as FCM Ungheni and took part in Moldovan "B" Division. In season 2003–04 club was overtaken by local businessman Ghenadie Mitriuc and renamed to FC Spartac. The authorities did not accept this and took the club back and renamed it again, this time to FC Moldova-03. In season 2005–06 team had a debut in Moldovan "A" Division. Dacia Buiucani is a Moldovan football club from the Buiucani sector of Chișinău. The club competes in the Moldovan Super Liga, the first tier of Moldovan football. The academy of the club is called CSCT Buiucani. CSCT is an abbreviation for Sports Club for Children and Youth ( ro, Clubul Sportiv pentru Copii și Tineret).
