2022–23 Liga III
The 2022–23 Liga III will be the 67th season of Liga III, the third tier of the Romanian football league system. The season will begin in August 2022 and is scheduled to end in June 2023. This season is the third consecutive with a format that will include 100 teams (10x10). The format was changed two seasons ago, due to the financial problems generated by the COVID-19 pandemic. The difference this season is that a play-off and play-out was introduced between the regular season and the promotion play-offs. __TOC__ Team changes Teams excluded by Romanian Football Federation Academica Clinceni and Gaz Metan Mediaş relegated to Liga II at the end of the 2021–22 Liga I season. On 20 June 2022, Academica and on 27 June 2022, Gaz Metan was relegated directly to Liga III, by the Romanian Football Federation, which denied a second tier licence to Academica and Gaz Metan, due to important financial problems and unpaid debts to current and former players and managers. Liga III
The Liga 3, most often spelled as Liga III, is the third level of the Romanian football league system. Its name was changed from Divizia C to Liga III before the start of the 2006–07 season. To determine these teams, separate standings are computed, using only the games played against clubs ranked 1st through 11th. Club Sportiv ACB Ineu, commonly known as ACB Ineu, or simply as Ineu, is a Romanian football club from Ineu, Arad County, Romania and currently playing in Liga IV – Arad County. Asociația Fotbal Club Astra Giurgiu (), commonly known as Astra Giurgiu or simply Astra, was a Romanian football club based in the city of Giurgiu, Giurgiu County. Founded in 1921 in Ploiești as ''Clubul Sportiv Astra-Română'', it spent the majority of its history in the lower leagues. On 19 October 2022, the club was officially shut down. Astra only began to achieve success in the late 1990s under the ownership of businessman Ioan Niculae, having reached the top flight for the first time in 1998. Asociația Fotbal Club 1919 Dacia Unirea Brăila, commonly known as Dacia Unirea Brăila, is a Romanian football club based in the city of Brăila, Brăila County, which competes in the Liga III. Founded in 1919, among the team's best performances are a sixth-place top division finish in the 1991–92 season and having reached a Cupa României final the following campaign.
