2022–23 East Carolina Pirates Men's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 East Carolina Pirates men's basketball team represented East Carolina University during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Pirates were led by first year head coach Michael Schwartz, and played their home games at Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum as ninth-year members of the American Athletic Conference. They finished the season 15–16, 6–12 in AAC Play to finish in ninth place. They defeated South Florida in the first round of the AAC tournament before falling to Houston in the quarterfinals. Previous season The Pirates finished the 2021–22 season 15–15, 6–11 in AAC play to finish in ninth place. They lost in the first round of the AAC tournament to Cincinnati. Michael Schwartz (basketball, Born 1976)
Michael Schwartz (born September 25, 1976) is an American basketball coach and head coach of the East Carolina Pirates men's basketball team. Playing career Schwartz played high school basketball at Beverly Hills High School, and his first two seasons of college basketball at Division II Sonoma State. He would then transfer to Texas to play for Rick Barnes during the 1998–99 season, appearing in one game of the Longhorns' Big 12 regular-season title winning team. Coaching career After graduation, Schwartz remained with the Longhorns as a graduate assistant, before making a one-year stop at Long Beach State as a video coach. He'd return to Texas in the same capacity before landing his first full-time assistant coaching position at UTSA. Schwartz would then move on to Miami in an administrative role under Frank Haith before being elevated to assistant coach. The UConn Huskies men's basketball program is the NCAA NCAA Division I, Division I college basketball, men's college basketball team of the University of Connecticut in Storrs, Connecticut. Tennessee Volunteers Basketball
The Tennessee Volunteers men's basketball team is the collegiate men's basketball program for the University of Tennessee–Knoxville. The Volunteers (commonly referred to as the "Vols") compete in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The Murray State Racers men's basketball program represents Murray State University in intercollegiate men's basketball. Murray State is a member of the Missouri Valley Conference in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), having joined that conference in 2022 after 74 seasons in the Ohio Valley Conference. The Bryant Bulldogs men's basketball team represents Bryant University in NCAA Division I men's basketball. The team currently competes in the America East Conference. They are led by head coach Jamion Christian and play their home games at the Chace Athletic Center.
