2022–23 Detroit Red Wings Season
The 2022–23 Detroit Red Wings season was the 97th season for the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise that was established on September 25, 1926. It was the Red Wings' sixth season at Little Caesars Arena. This was the Red Wings' first season under new head coach Derek Lalonde. The Red Wings were eliminated from playoff contention for the seventh consecutive season on April 6, 2023, after a 7–6 shootout loss to the Buffalo Sabres. They would finish the season at 35–37–10. Atlantic Division (NHL)
The National Hockey League has used the name Atlantic Division for two distinct groups of teams. The original Atlantic Division, the predecessor of which was the Patrick Division, was formed in 1993 as part of the Eastern Conference in a league realignment. As part of a 2013 realignment, the entirety of the former Atlantic Division was realigned into the Metropolitan Division. The Atlantic Division name was assigned to a new division comprising the entirety of the former Northeast Division plus the Florida Panthers and the Tampa Bay Lightning (coincidentally, both were members of the original Atlantic Division until 1998) from the now-dissolved Southeast Division, and the Detroit Red Wings, who moved from the Central Division of the Western Conference. The 2022–23 Boston Bruins season was the Bruins' 99th season as a member of the National Hockey League. On November 25, 2022, the Bruins set a record for most consecutive home wins to start the season with 12 straight with a 3–2 overtime win over the Carolina Hurricanes. The streak extended to 14 on December 3. The streak ended three days later after they lost 4–3 to the Vegas Golden Knights in a shootout. This was the first season without longtime winger Dustin Brown on the roster as he announced his retirement on April 28, 2022, following the 2022 Stanley Cup playoffs. Alexander Nedeljkovic ( ', born January 7, 1996) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender for the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League (NHL). Nedeljkovic was selected by the Carolina Hurricanes in the second round (37th overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. Playing career Junior Nedeljkovic grew up in Cleveland, where he played for the Cleveland Barons bantam AAA team, and played with them in the 2009 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament. Sebastian Cossa (born November 21, 2002) is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender for the Toledo Walleye of the ECHL as a prospect for the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League (NHL).
