2022–23 Denver Pioneers Men's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 Denver Pioneers men's basketball team represented the University of Denver in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Pioneers, led by second-year head coach Jeff Wulbrun, played their home games at Hamilton Gymnasium in Denver, Colorado, as members of the Summit League. Previous season The Pioneers finished the 2021–22 season 11–21, 7–11 in Summit League play to finish in a tie for sixth place. They were defeated by North Dakota State in the quarterfinals of the Summit League tournament. Jeff Wulbrun
Jeff Wulbrun (born August 5, 1960) is an American basketball coach who is the current head coach of the University of Denver Pioneers men's basketball team. Coaching career Wulbrun's first coaching experience came under Lou Campanelli as an assistant coach at Cal, where he stayed on staff until Campanelli's retirement before joining Kevin Stallings as an assistant at Illinois State. In 1997, Wulbrun would leave college coaching to work in the private sector while also coaching high school basketball at Central Catholic High School in Bloomington, Illinois from 2002 to 2007. In 2011, Wulbrun would accept a spot as director of basketball operations for Seth Greenberg at Virginia Tech for a season before joining Jerod Haase as an assistant coach at UAB. 2022–23 Idaho Vandals Men's Basketball Team
The 2022–23 Idaho Vandals men's basketball team represented the University of Idaho in the Big Sky Conference during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Led by fourth-year head coach Zac Claus, the Vandals played their home games on campus at ICCU Arena in Moscow, Idaho. They finished the season 10–22, 4–14 in Big Sky play to finish in last place. They lost to Northern Arizona in the first round of the Big Sky tournament. On February 28, 2023 following the final regular season game, the school fired head coach Zac Claus.
