2022–23 Chittagong Abahani Season
The 2022–23 season was the Chittagong Abahani's 43rd season since its establishment in 1980 and their 13th season in the Bangladesh Football Premier League, Bangladesh Premier League. This also remarks their 9th consecutive season in the top flight after getting promoted in 2014. In addition to 2022–23 Bangladesh Premier League (football), domestic league, Ctg Abahani also participated on this season's edition of 2022–23 Federation Cup (Bangladesh), Federation Cup and 2022–23 Independence Cup (Bangladesh), Independence Cup. The season covered the period from October 2022 to July 2023. This season marked the return of head coach Saiful Bari Titu for his second spell replacing Maruful Haque, who departed to Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club, Sheikh Jamal DC after letting his contract expire. This season was the first since 2014–2015 season without Koushik Barua, one of the longest serving player of the club's history, as he departed to join Sheikh Jamal DC. Players Players stat ... 2022–23 Independence Cup (Bangladesh)
The 2022–23 Independence Cup, also known as Bashundhara Group Independence Cup 2022 due to the sponsorship from Bashundhara Group. It was the 12th edition of the Independence Cup, the oldest official club football tournament in Bangladesh. A total of 16 teams were contested in the tournament including two coming through qualifying round. Bashundhara Kings is the defending champion. They have won the title by beating Sheikh Russel KC by 2(4)−2(1) penalties shoot out on 5 December 2022. Participating teams The following sixteen teams will contest in the tournament. Venues The matches are being played at these three venues across the country. Draw The draw ceremony were held on 31 October 2022 at 3rd floor of BFF house Motijheel, Dhaka. There are sixteen team was divided into four groups. Top two team from each group will through in the Knockout stage.
