2022–23 Championnat National 2
The 2022–23 Championnat National 2 was the 25th season of the fourth tier in the French football league system in its current format. This season the competition was contested by 64 clubs split geographically across four groups of 16 teams. The teams included amateur clubs (although a few are semi-professional) and the reserve teams of professional clubs. The competition started on 20 August 2022 and completed on 3 June 2023. Teams On 13 July 2022, the FFF ratified the constitution of the competition, and published the groups. Championnat National 2
The Championnat National 2, commonly known as National 2 and formerly known as Championnat de France Amateur (CFA), is a football league competition. The league serves as the fourth tier of the French football league system behind Ligue 1, Ligue 2, and the Championnat National. Contested by 64 clubs, the Championnat National 2 operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Championnat National and the Championnat National 3, the fifth division of French football. Seasons run from August to May, with teams in four groups playing 32 games each totalling 1280 games in the season. Most games are played on Saturdays and Sundays, with a few games played during weekday evenings. Play is regularly suspended the last weekend before Christmas for two weeks before returning in the second week of January. French Football League System
The French football league system is a series of interconnected leagues for club football in France and Monaco, and includes one Spanish side. At the top two levels of the system is the Ligue de Football Professionnel, which consists of two professional national divisions, Ligue 1 and Ligue 2. Below that are a number of leagues run by the Fédération Française de Football. At level 3 is the semi-professional Championnat National. Below that is the amateur Championnat National 2 (level 4), which is divided into four parallel regional divisions, followed by the Championnat National 3 (level 5), which is divided into 12 parallel regional divisions. Wasquehal Football
Wasquehal Football is a French football club based in Wasquehal. History and mergers The club was founded in 1924 as ''L'Union Sportive de Wasquehal''. It was known as ''Entente Sportive de Wasquehal'' in 1945, when it merged with ''L'Association Sportive de Wasquehal'' (founded in 1931). In 2017, it merged further with ''Wasquehal Futsal Club'' and took on the current name. The club held professional status between 1997 and 2004, playing in Ligue 2 from 1997 until 2003. Stadium Racing Colmar is a football club located in Colmar, France. They play in the Championnat National 2, the fourth tier of French football. History Founded in 1919 as AS Colmar, the club is based in Colmar, Alsace, and plays its home matches at the Colmar Stadium in the city. Racing Besançon is a French association football, football club based in Besançon. It was founded in 1904. They play at the Stade Léo Lagrange. The club currently competes in the Championnat National 2 the fourth tier of France Football. The Direction Nationale du Contrôle de Gestion (DNCG) (English: National Directorate of Management Control) is the organization responsible for monitoring and overseeing the accounts of professional association football clubs in France. It was founded in 1984 and is an administrative directorate of the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP). The current president of the DNCG is Richard Olivier.
