2022–23 Big Bash League Season
The 2022–23 Big Bash League season or BBL, 12 is the ongoing twelfth season of the Big Bash League (BBL), the professional men's Twenty20 domestic cricket competition in Australia. The round-robin phase of the tournament is scheduled to run from 13 December 2022 to 4 February 2023. Background Perth Scorchers are the defending champions, having won their 4th title in the 2021–22 Big Bash League season. The season saw the implementation of the international draft system, and removal of the Bash Boost point and X-Factor from the tournament. The Decision Review System was also implemented for the first time, with each team having one review available per innings, retaining the review if successful. Adelaide Oval is a sports ground in Adelaide, South Australia, located in the parklands between the city centre and North Adelaide. Nic Maddinson
Nicolas James Maddinson (born 21 December 1991) is an Australian cricketer. He is a left-handed opening batter who has represented Australia in both Test matches and Twenty20 Internationals. Domestically he plays for the Victoria cricket team and the Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash League, previously having played for New South Wales, Melbourne Stars and Sydney Sixers. Adam Griffith
Adam Richard Griffith (born 11 February 1978) is a former Australian cricket player and Australian bowling coach. He was appointed as the cricket coach for Tasmania for the 2017–2018 season. He played first-class cricket for Tasmania and also had a spell at Leicestershire. He played his club cricket for South Launceston Cricket Club & North Hobart Cricket Club. Playing career Griffith represented his native state of Tasmania between 2002 and 2010, and was a member of Tasmania's first-ever Sheffield Shield winning team in 2006–07. Matthew Scott Wade (born 26 December 1987) is an Australian cricketer. He has represented the Australian national team as wicket-keeper and batsman in all three forms of international cricket. York Park is a sports ground in the Inveresk and York Park Precinct, Launceston, Australia. Holding 19,000 people – the largest capacity stadium in Tasmania, York Park is known commercially as University of Tasmania Stadium and was formerly known as Aurora Stadium under a previous naming rights agreement signed with Aurora Energy in 2004. Wade Seccombe
Wade Anthony Seccombe (born 30 October 1971 in Murgon, Queensland) is a retired Australian first-class cricketer representing the state of Queensland. A wicket-keeper, Seccombe spent much of his career as second choice behind incumbent Ian Healy, replacing him largely when the latter was on international duty. He was nevertheless regarded as a keeper of substantial skill, rated a "great keeper" by Australian captain Ricky Ponting. Usman Tariq Khawaja ( ur, ; born 18 December 1986) is an Australian cricketer who represents Australia and Queensland. Khawaja made his first-class cricket debut for New South Wales in 2008 and played his first international match for Australia in January 2011. Carrara Stadium (known commercially as Metricon Stadium) is a stadium on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia, located in the suburb of Carrara. The stadium is primarily used for Australian rules football, serving as the home ground of the Gold Coast Suns, who compete in the Australian Football League.
