2022–23 Barnsley F.C. Season
The 2022–23 season is the 136th season in the existence of Barnsley Football Club and the club's first season back in League One following their relegation from the Championship the previous season. In addition to the league, they also competed in the FA Cup, the EFL Cup and the EFL Trophy. Transfers In Out Loans in Loans out Pre-season and friendlies Crewe Alexandra and Worksop Town announced friendlies with Barnsley on 18 May 2022. Belper Town did likewise on 24 May. On 1 June Barnsley confirmed their pre-season schedule. A trip to Harrogate Town was later added to the schedule. Barnsley () is a market town in South Yorkshire, England. As the main settlement of the Metropolitan Borough of Barnsley and the fourth largest settlement in South Yorkshire. In Barnsley, the population was 96,888 while the wider Borough has seen an increase of 5.8%, from 231,200 in 2011 census to 244,600 in 2021 census. Historically in the West Riding of Yorkshire, it is located between the cities of Sheffield, Manchester, Doncaster, Wakefield, and Leeds. The larger towns of Rotherham and Huddersfield are nearby. Luca Connell
Luca John Connell (born 20 April 2001) is an Irish professional footballer. He plays as a defensive midfielder for EFL League One side Barnsley. He started his senior career with Bolton Wanderers before moving to Celtic, from whom he spent two loan spells at Queen's Park. Adam Lee Phillips (born 15 January 1998) is an English professional footballer who plays for Barnsley, as a midfielder. James Norwood
James Norwood (born 5 September 1990) is an English professional footballer who plays as a striker for Oldham Athletic. He started his career with Eastbourne Town, making eighteen senior appearances before signing for Exeter City in July 2009. Nicky Cadden
Nicholas Cadden (born 19 September 1996) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a winger for Barnsley. Cadden has previously played for Airdrieonians, Livingston, Ayr United and Greenock Morton. He is the twin brother of Chris Cadden. Jamie Searle (born 25 November 2000) is a New Zealand footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for club Forest Green Rovers. He was part of the New Zealand squad in the football competition at the 2020 Summer Olympics and made his senior debut in March 2022.
