2022–23 Alabama State Hornets Basketball Team
The 2022–23 Alabama State Hornets basketball team represented Alabama State University in the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Hornets, led by first-year head coach Tony Madlock, played their home games at the Dunn–Oliver Acadome in Montgomery, Alabama as members of the Southwestern Athletic Conference. Previous season The Hornets finished the 2021–22 season 9–21, 8–10 in SWAC play to finish in a tie for eighth place. They failed to qualify for the SWAC tournament. On April 9, after just two years as the helm, head coach Mo Williams announced his resignation. Two days later, on April 11, South Carolina State head coach Tony Madlock, was announced as the Hornets' next head coach. Tony Madlock
Tony Madlock (born February 17, 1970) is an American basketball coach who is the current head coach of the Alabama State Hornets men's basketball team. Playing career A Memphis native who starred at Melrose High School, Madlock played collegiately for Memphis under Larry Finch from 1988 to 1992, and was part of the Tigers' 1992 Elite Eight squad during his senior year. He still ranks as the all-time leader in games played with 128. Coaching career Madlock began his coaching career at his high school alma mater for three seasons, helping guide Melrose to a state tournament runner-up finish in 1997. He'd get his first college coaching position at Arkansas State, working under Dickey Nutt. There he was part of the Red Wolves' 1999 NCAA tournament squad. Cedar Hill is a city in Dallas and Ellis counties in the U.S. state of Texas. It is located approximately southwest of downtown Dallas and is situated along the eastern shore of Joe Pool Lake and Cedar Hill State Park. Hammond High School (Indiana)
Hammond High School was a public secondary school located in the Northwestern Indiana city of Hammond. Part of the School City of Hammond district, it opened in 1884 and graduated its final class in the spring of 2021. History Hammond High School was established in 1884. The building that would be the final Hammond High campus opened in 1915 as the Hammond Industrial High School. The school caught fire on December 13, 1967. In the aftermath of the fire, students shared the campus of Hammond Tech, attending classes in the afternoon while Hammond Tech students went to class in the morning. Reconstruction after the fire was not completed until 1973. Huntingdon College is a private Methodist college in Montgomery, Alabama. It was founded in 1854 as a women's college. History Huntingdon College was chartered on February 2, 1854, as " Tuskegee Female College" by the Alabama State Legislature and Governor John A. Winston. The Texas Southern Tigers basketball team is the basketball team that represents Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas, United States. The team currently competes in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. Their current head coach is Johnny Jones, who took over after Mike Davis took the Detroit Mercy head coaching job on June 5, 2018.
