2022 York United FC Season
The 2022 York United FC season was the fourth season in the history of York United FC. In addition to the Canadian Premier League, the club competed in the Canadian Championship. This was the club's first season led by Martin Nash, who was announced as the club's new head coach on December 21, 2021. Current squad ''As of August 11, 2022.'' York United Football Club (formerly known as York9 FC) is a Canadian professional soccer club based in Toronto, Ontario. The club competes in the Canadian Premier League and plays its home games at York University's York Lions Stadium. History In December 2017, former Canadian international Jimmy Brennan stepped down as executive director of Aurora FC and announced his intentions to take a role within the Canadian Premier League. In March 2018, it was revealed that Brennan had been named executive vice-president of York Sports & Entertainment back in January. The following day, it was revealed that the company's president Preben Ganzhorn named himself as president of an unknown entity called York9 FC, believed to be a Canadian Premier League franchise. Tass Mourdoukoutas (born 3 March 1999) is an Australian professional soccer player who plays as a defender for Valour FC in the Canadian Premier League. Early life Born in Sydney, Mourdoukoutas grew up in Sylvania Waters and is of Greek descent. He began playing soccer at the age of four with the Marrickville FC Red Devils. Afterwards, he joined the Football NSW Institute before moving to Sydney Olympic's youth team in 2016. Sebastián Gutiérrez Atehortua (born 29 September 1997) is a Colombian professional footballer. Club career Patriotas On 2 September 2016, Gutiérrez made his senior debut for Categoría Primera A side Patriotas in the Copa Colombia, which would be his only appearance of the season. Oliver Thomal Minatel (born 29 August 1992), known as Oliver, is a Brazilian former professional footballer. Career Youth After spending five years at his home club Guarani, Mintatel joined the esteemed academy of Paulínia in 2007 where he would play three seasons in the Campeonato Paulista and featured in the Copa São Paulo. At Nacional, Minatel spent one year with their U-19 squad where he finished second on the team in scoring with 18 goals from 22 matches. Chrisnovic Isemoli N'sa (born January 28, 1999) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays for Swedish club Östersunds FK in the Superettan. Early life N'sa began playing youth soccer at age nine with AS Concordia. Afterwards, he played for CS Panellinios. FC Edmonton was a Canadian professional soccer club based in Edmonton, Alberta. The club was founded in 2010 and competed in the North American Soccer League (NASL) from 2011 to 2017. Ljungskile SK is a Swedish football club located in Ljungskile, a town within Uddevalla Municipality. They currently play in the Swedish third tier, Division 1. Roger Thompson (born 19 December 1991) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a centre-back for York United. Club career Early career After moving to Canada, Thompson started playing football at Brampton East SC. He later played with Vaughan SC. Dominick Lukasz Zator (born September 18, 1994) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a defender for Ekstraklasa club Korona Kielce.
