2022 Vuelta A Asturias
The 2022 Vuelta Asturias Julio Alvarez Mendo was a road cycling stage race that took place between 29 April and 1 May 2021 in the Asturias region of northwestern Spain. It was the 64th edition of the Vuelta Asturias and was part of the 2022 UCI Europe Tour calendar as a category 2.1 event. Teams Two UCI WorldTeam, seven UCI ProTeams, and five UCI Continental teams made up the fifteen teams that participated in the race. All but three teams fielded the maximum of seven riders: , and entered six and entered five. There was a total of 100 riders that started the race. 2022 UCI Europe Tour
The 2022 UCI Europe Tour was the eighteenth season of the UCI Europe Tour. The 2022 season began on 23 January 2022 with the Trofeo Luis Puig, Clàssica Comunitat Valenciana 1969, and concluded on 16 October 2022 with the Chrono des Nations and the Veneto Classic. Throughout the season, points are awarded to the top finishers of stages within stage races and the final general classification standings of each of the stages races and one-day events. The quality and complexity of a race also determines how many points are awarded to the top finishers, the higher the UCI rating of a race, the more points are awarded. The UCI Continental Circuits are a series of road bicycle racing competitions which were introduced in 2005 by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) to expand cycling around the world. Cangas del Narcea is the oldest municipality in the Principality of Asturias in Spain. It is also the largest municipality in Asturias. Candás is a small fishing village in Asturias, the north of Spain.
