2022 U Sports University Cup
The 2022 U Sports Men's University Cup Hockey Tournament (60th Annual) was held March 31 – April 3, 2022, in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, to determine a national champion for the 2021–22 U Sports men's ice hockey season. The OUA Champion UQTR Patriotes defeated the Canada West Champion, and top-seeded, Alberta Golden Bears by a score of 5–4 in double overtime. Host The tournament was played at Andrew H. McCain Arena on the campus of Acadia University. It was the first full tournament hosted by Acadia following the partially-played, cancelled championship in 2020. This is scheduled to be the first U Sports men's ice hockey championship played since 2019 following two years of cancelled tournaments due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada. 2020 U Sports University Cup
The 2020 U Sports Men's University Cup Hockey Tournament (58th Annual) was scheduled for March 2020 in Halifax, Nova Scotia at the Scotiabank Centre, but was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic after the first day of competition. The Acadia Axemen, a member of U Sports Atlantic University Sport conference, were the designated host. Scotiabank Centre is 99 kilometres south of the school's campus ( Wolfville). This event marked the third appearance of the tournament in Halifax, which hosted the 2015 and 2016 tournaments. This was the first time that Acadia was the host of the tournament; St. Francis Xavier University and Saint Mary's University split hosting rights (respectively) during the previous two-year stint. David Johnston University Cup
The David Johnston University Cup is a national collegiate sports award, presented annually to the champion of a season-ending tournament played by U Sports men's ice hockey teams in Canada. The UQTR Patriotes are the current champions for the 2021–2022 season. The Alberta Golden Bears have won the most championships with 16, and have also appeared in another seven finals. Originally called the CIAU University Cup in 1962, with minor changes through the decades when Canada's national university sports organization changed its own name, the trophy's name was changed on March 13, 2018, to honour David Johnston, a few months after he served as Governor General of Canada.
