2022 USL W League Season
The 2022 USL W League season is the first season of USL W League. The regular season began on May 6 and ended on July 10. 44 teams participated in this inaugural season. Indy Eleven won the first game in league history, defeating Kings Hammer FC 3–1 on May 6. Rachel McCarthy scored the first two goals. South Georgia Tormenta FC won the Championship 2–1 against Regular Season winners Minnesota Aurora FC on July 23. USL W League
The USL W League (USLW) is a pre-professional women's soccer league in the United States which began play in May 2022. It was announced on June 8, 2021 by the United Soccer League with eight founding clubs. It follows the USL W-League, a similar league that existed from 1995 to 2015. At launch, the USL said the inaugural season would include at least 30 teams. History The league was originally announced with eight clubs, six of which would be women's sides for existing men's USL teams, and two of which would be entirely new franchises. The inaugural season began on May 6, 2022 with 44 teams. Racing Louisville Football Club is a National Women's Soccer League team based in Louisville, Kentucky. It began playing in 2021 at Lynn Family Stadium. Queensboro FC is an upcoming American professional soccer team based in the borough of Queens in New York City. It was funded and founded on November of 2019. Queensboro FC will make its debut as an expansion team in the USL Championship. Josep Gombau was named the team's first head coach and sporting director on July 6, 2020. Their start date was also moved from the 2021 season to the 2022 season, and later the 2023 season. On October 6, 2020, QBFC unveiled their official crest and color scheme.
