2022 Tour Of Oman
The 2022 Tour of Oman was a road cycling stage race that took place between 10 and 15 February 2022 in Oman. The race was rated as a category 2.Pro event on the 2022 UCI ProSeries calendar, and was the 11th edition of the Tour of Oman. The race returned after a two-year hiatus and made its inaugural appearance in the UCI ProSeries. The 2020 edition was cancelled due to a national mourning period following the death of Sultan Qaboos bin Said, while the 2021 edition was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Teams Seven of the 18 UCI WorldTeams, eight UCI ProTeams, one UCI Continental team, and the Omani national team made up the 18 teams that participated in the race. Only six teams entered a full squad of seven riders each; five teams entered six riders each, while the remaining six teams entered five riders each. The 2022 UCI ProSeries is the third season of the UCI ProSeries, the second tier road cycling tour, below the UCI World Tour, but above the various regional UCI Continental Circuits. The original calendar consisted of 56 events, of which 30 are one-day races (1.Pro), and 26 are stage races (2.Pro). Sohar
Sohar ( ar, صُحَار, also Romanized as Suḥār) is the capital and largest city of the Al Batinah North Governorate in Oman. An ancient capital of the country that once served as an important Islamic port town, Suhar has also been credited as the mythical birthplace of Sinbad the Sailor. According to the 2010 census, Suhar's population was 140,006, making it Oman's fifth most-populated settlement. Oman Convention And Exhibition Centre
The Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre is a major business and tourism facility owned and developed by the Oman Tourism Development Company and located in the Seeb area of Capital city Muscat, Oman. History The first phase of the project, which includes the exhibition halls designed by SSH and built by Carillion Alawi, opened in June 2016. There are five exhibition halls which in total provide 22,000 sq m of exhibition space. The second phase, which includes the convention centre itself being built by a joint venture between Shapoorji Pallonji and Oman Shapoorji Company, is due to open in June 2018. Rustaq ( ar, ٱلرُّسْتَاق, Ar-Rustāq) is a town and ''Wilayah'' (District) in Al Batinah Region of northern Oman. The wilayah is in the Western Hajar Mountains, in the south of the Batinah. Rustaq was once the capital of Oman, during the era of Imam Nasir bin Murshid al Ya'arubi. Rustaq Fort, built four centuries prior to the 7th century CE, is an imposing structure built on three levels, containing separate houses, an armoury, a mosque and four towers. The tallest tower stands over high, and has a diameter of . The Al Hazm Castle is an outstanding example of Omani Islamic architecture and was built in 1711 AD.
