2022 Supercars Championship
The 2022 Supercars Championship (known for commercial reasons as the 2022 Repco Supercars Championship) was a motor racing series for Supercars. It was the twenty-fourth running of the Supercars Championship and the twenty-sixth series in which Supercars have contested the Australian Touring Car Championship, the premier title in Australian motorsport. Shane van Gisbergen successfully defended the Drivers' Championship, claiming his third title. In a display of dominance throughout the season, he broke the record for the most wins in a single season with 21 wins, eclipsing Scott McLaughlin's record of 18 wins in 2019. Triple Eight Race Engineering successfully defended the Teams' Championship. Holden won their final Manufacturers' Championship at The Bend SuperSprint. 2022 Super2 Series
The 2022 Super2 & Super3 Series was an Australian motor racing competition for Supercars as a support series. It was the twenty-third running of the Supercars Development Series, the second tier of competition in Supercars racing. Since joining as a class in 2021 this also marked at the same time as the fifteenth running of the Super3 Series, the third tier of competition in Supercars racing (Officially in 2019 as the Kumho Tyre Super3 Series). Tim Blanchard
Tim Blanchard (born 30 June 1987) is an Australian racing driver. Blanchard has raced in several other motor racing series, including the British Formula Ford Championship, and was the winner of the 2007 Australian Formula Ford Championship. Early career Karting Blanchard raced in various classes throughout his karting career, resulting in numerous titles. His final two years were particularly notable, taking out all before him in a dominant two years for the young Victorian. 2003 saw Tim take out the Victorian Junior National Heavy Title before winning the Australian Junior National Heavy Title in the National Sprint Kart Championships at Ipswich Kart Raceway, Ipswich, QLD. David Reynolds (racing Driver)
David Reynolds (born 3 July 1985) is an Australian professional racing driver. He currently drives in the Repco Supercars Championship for Grove Racing, racing the No. 26 Ford Mustang. Matthew Payne
Matthew "Matt" Payne (born 3 October 2002) is a New Zealand racing driver from Auckland, New Zealand. He is currently competing in the Dunlop Super2 Series with Grove Racing, driving the No. 10 Nissan Altima L33. Payne is also inaugural inductee of the Grove Junior Team, a program to fast track young drivers into the Supercars Championship. Lee Holdsworth
Lee Holdsworth (born 2 February 1983) is a semi-retired Australian racing driver. He won the 2021 Bathurst 1000 alongside Chaz Mostert and finished his full-time career after the 2022 season, after nearly two decades of racing. Grove Racing is an Australian motor racing team that's previously competed in various series, including the Porsche Carrera Cup Australia Championship and Super2 Series. The team is making its debut in the Supercars Championship in 2022. They will campaign two Ford Mustangs, driven by Lee Holdsworth and David Reynolds. Kurt Kostecki (born 4 July 1998) is an Australian racing driver currently competing in the Dunlop Super2 Series in the No. 55 Holden VF Commodore for Kostecki Brothers Racing. Jake Kostecki (born 24 January 2000) is a former Australian professional racing driver who competed in the Repco Supercars Championship. Biography Junior Series Kostecki began his career in karts at the age of 8, in the 2008 Western Australian Karting Championship. Zak Best (born 11 October 2001) is an Australian racing car driver. He currently competes in the Dunlop Super2 Series in the No. 78 Ford FG X Falcon, with wins, podiums and poles to his name in the Super2 Series. Thomas Randle (born 7 April 1996) is an Australian racing driver. He currently races in the Supercars Championship for Tickford Racing in the No. 55 Ford Mustang GT.
