Linn Grant
Linn Maria Grant (born 20 June 1999) is a Swedish professional golfer who plays on the LPGA Tour and Ladies European Tour. As an amateur, she won the 2017 Ladies' British Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship and was in contention at the 2018 and 2020 U.S. Women's Open. Family and early years Grant is the grand-daughter of James Grant, a Scottish golf professional who emigrated from Inverness in Scotland to Helsingborg in Sweden. The Grant family has had a fair bit of success on Catriona Matthew's home track, North Berwick Golf Club. James won the Scottish Boys Championship on the course, and Linn won the British Amateur Stroke Play Championship there, 49 years later. James died when Linn was 6 years old. The Royal Cape Golf Club in Cape Town, South Africa was established in 1885 and is the oldest golf club in Africa. History Royal Cape is South Africa's oldest and traditionally most prestigious course, set to the backdrop of Cape Town's Table Mountain and Devil's Peak. The club began on the 14th of November 1885, established by Lt Gen Sir Henry D'Oyley Torrens only days after he arrived in the Cape Colony, soon to serve as acting Governor. Casandra Alexander (née Hall, born 13 August 1999) is a South African professional golfer playing on the Ladies European Tour. In 2020, she won the team event at the Saudi Ladies Team International. She competed as Casandra Hall until her marriage to Adrian Alexander, a bodybuilder, in 2022. Lee-Anne Pace (born 15 February 1981) is a South African professional golfer. Career Pace was born in Paarl, Western Cape. She had a successful amateur collegiate career in the United States, where she attended Murray State University and the University of Tulsa, graduating with a degree in psychology. The Glendower Golf Club is an 18-hole golf complex located in Edenvale, Gauteng, South Africa. The course has been the home of the South African Open for eight competitions. Paula Reto (born 3 May 1990) is a South African professional golfer who plays on the LPGA Tour. Amateur career Reto played field hockey and ran track in her youth and did not start playing golf until 2005. She played with the Purdue Boilermakers women's golf team between 2009 and 2012, and was a member of the 2010 NCAA National Championship team. She was a three-time First-Team All-Big Ten Conference selection (2011-2013), and a First-Team All-American in 2013. The Dimension Data Ladies Pro-Am is a women's professional golf tournament held in Western Cape, South Africa. It is an event on the Southern Africa-based Sunshine Ladies Tour since 2014, played concurrently with the men's Dimension Data Pro-Am on the Sunshine Tour. The professional golfers are teamed with an amateur and together they compete for the Dimension Data Ladies Pro-Am trophy. They compete using the Better Ball Medal scoring system with the amateur handicaps taken into account.
