2022 Spain Sevens
The 2022 Spain Sevens was held as two rugby sevens tournaments on consecutive weekends in . The first was hosted at Estadio Ciudad in Málaga and the second at Estadio La Cartuja in Seville. These events were the inaugural season of the Spain Sevens and were played as the third and fourth tournaments of the 2021–22 World Rugby Sevens Series. South Africa won back-to-back titles in Spain, defeating Argentina in the final at Málaga and Australia in the final at Seville. Format The teams at each tournament were drawn into four pools. A round-robin was held for each pool, where each team played the others in their pool once. The top two teams from each pool advanced to the Cup quarterfinals to compete for tournament honours. 2021–22 World Rugby Sevens Series
The 2021–22 World Rugby Sevens Series was the 23rd annual series of rugby sevens tournaments for national men's rugby sevens teams. The Sevens Series has been run by World Rugby since 1999. The series was won by , claiming their first World Series title. Second-placed South Africa opened the competition by winning the first four tournaments, with a 36 match winning streak that lasted until the 2022 Singapore Sevens where they were beaten by the United States in pool play, but they did not make the semifinals in any of the remaining events. There was no relegation required at the end of the season as the number of core teams was reduced when England, Scotland and Wales were combined to play as Great Britain for the 2022–23 series. Australia National Rugby Sevens Team
The Australia men's national rugby sevens team participates in international competitions such as the World Rugby Sevens Series and Rugby World Cup Sevens. The current captain of the team is Nick Malouf, and the head coach is John Manenti . Rugby sevens is now recognised as an Olympic sport and made its debut at the 2016 Summer Olympics. The New Zealand national rugby sevens team competes in the World Rugby Sevens Series, Rugby World Cup Sevens, Summer Olympic Games and the Commonwealth Games. They have won a record twelve World Rugby Sevens Series titles. The team has been officially known as the All Blacks Sevens since 1 June 2012. Argentina National Rugby Sevens Team
The Argentina national rugby sevens team competes in the World Rugby Sevens Series, in the Rugby World Cup Sevens, and, beginning in 2016, in the Summer Olympics.
