Good Choice And Moderates
Good Choice and Moderates ( sk, Dobrá voľba a umiernení) is a political party in Slovakia. The party's goals were officially announced at a press conference on 12 September 2019. On 20 May 2023, the party approved a merger agreement with Voice – Social Democracy, set to take effect on 30 September. History In August 2019, Tomáš Drucker announced his intention to establish a new political party. Even before announcing that the party would be called Good Choice, Robert Fico responded: "''He just doesn't have it. This is a typical café, liberal politician'' ... Bratislava Region
The Bratislava Region ( sk, Bratislavský kraj, , german: Pressburger/Bratislavaer Landschaftsverband (until 1919), hu, Pozsonyi kerület) is one of the administrative regions of Slovakia. Its capital is Bratislava. The region was first established in 1923 and its present borders exist from 1996. It is the smallest of the eight regions of Slovakia as well as the most urbanized, most developed and most productive by GDP per capita. Geography The region is located in the south-western part of Slovakia and has an area of 2,053 km2 and a population of 622,706 (2009). Dawn (Slovakia)
Dawn ( sk, Úsvit) is a far-left Slovak political party formed in May 2005 as a split from the Communist Party of Slovakia (KSS). It is led by Ivan Hopta. Hopta was excluded from the KSS because of personal conflicts. The party publishes a magazine called ''Dawn'' (Úsvit), which seems to be its only activity. The party's main base is the Eastern Slovak town of Humenné, where Hopta lives. ''Dawn'' is considered to be orthodox-communist. Republic (Slovakia)
Republic ( sk, Republika) is a far-right political party in Slovakia, led by Milan Uhrík. It was founded in March 2021 by Uhrík and a group of former members of Marian Kotleba's far-right People's Party Our Slovakia (ĽSNS). Instead of filing a completely new party (which would require the collection of 10,000 supporters' signatures), they took over and renamed the existing "Voice of the People" ( sk, Hlas Ľudu) party led by Peter Marček, which had just 50 members in 2018. Due to defection of former ĽSNS representatives, the party has five seats in the Slovak National Council. Milan Uhrík himself is a member of the European Parliament, elected for ĽSNS in 2019. Localism describes a range of political philosophies which prioritize the local. Generally, localism supports local production and consumption of goods, local control of government, and promotion of local history, local culture and local identity. Localism can be contrasted with regionalism and centralized government, with its opposite being found in the unitary state. Localism can also refer to a systematic approach to organizing a central government so that local autonomy is retained rather than following the usual pattern of government and political power becoming centralized over time.
