2022 Scottish Rally Championship
The Motorsport UK Scottish Rally Championship is a rallying series run throughout Scotland over the course of a year that comprises both gravel and tarmac surface rallies. The 2022 series began on the forest tracks around Inverness on 5 March with the season finale due to take place in Kielder Forest, Northumberland on 22 October. The championship will be sponsored by ''KNC Groundworks'' for the fourth year in succession. Following the ''Galloway Hills Rally'' in September, driver David Bogie was declared champion after winning five of the seven events thus far. 2022 calendar For season 2022 there will be eight events held on both gravel and tarmac surfaces. 2022 events podium Drivers Points Classification Points are awarded to the highest placed registered driver on each event as follows: 30, 28, 27, 26, and so on down to 1 point. Motorsport UK, formerly known as the Motor Sports Association (MSA), is a national membership organisation and governing body for four-wheel motorsport in the United Kingdom. Banchory
Banchory (, sco, Banchry, gd, Beannchar) is a burgh or town in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It is about west of Aberdeen, near where the Feugh River meets the River Dee. Prehistory and archaeology In 2009, a farmer discovered a short cist burial to the east of the town. Archaeologists were called into excavate it and they found that it was a burial from the Beaker culture. Radiocarbon dating put the burial at sometime between 2330 and 2040 BC. Stable isotope analysis of the human remains indicated that he or she grew up on basalt geology, like that of the region, or on chalk, meaning they were either local or could have come from another place, like Yorkshire. Residue analysis of the Beaker pot found in the burial established that it had held either butter or milk. The Hyundai i20 R5 is a rally car built by Hyundai Motorsport and based upon the Hyundai i20 road car. It is built to R5 regulations. The i20 R5 made its competitive début at the 2016 Tour de Corse, where it was driven by Kevin Abbring and Sebastian Marshall. The car currently competes in the World Rally Championship-2 and the European Rally Championship where it is entered by Hyundai's factory team and various privateers. The Mini John Cooper Works WRC is a World Rally Car debuted by the Mini WRC Team during the 2011 World Rally Championship season. It is the first rally car to bear the Mini label in top-level rallying since the 1960s. John "Jock" Armstrong (born 23 January 1970) is a British rally driver from Castle Douglas. He was Scottish Rally Champion in 2015 and 2016. Career His first rally was in 1989 driving a Vauxhall Nova. In 1993 he won the UK Colway Tyres budget championship in a 1300cc Vauxhall Nova, ahead of drivers with more powerful cars. In October 2015, Armstrong and regular co-driver Paula Swinscoe were crowned the 2015 Scottish Rally champions.
