2022 San Bernardino Mayoral Election
The 2022 San Bernardino mayoral election was held on November 8, 2022, to elect the mayor of San Bernardino, California. San Bernardino uses a top-two primary, and the first round of voting was held on June 7, 2022. Candidates could win the election outright by receiving more than 50% of the vote, but no candidate received a majority. Seven candidates took part in the primary election, including incumbent mayor John Valdivia, former City Attorney from 1987 to 2013 Jim Penman, and San Bernardino Director of Human Resources Helen Tran. Helen Tran is an American politician and the mayor of San Bernardino, California. Tran was elected in the 2022 San Bernardino mayoral election and is the city's first Asian American mayor. Early life and education Tran was born to Vietnamese refugees in San Diego. She attended Cajon High School and became the first in her family to earn a college degree when she graduated from University of California, Santa Cruz with a Bachelors Degree in American studies in 2004. John Valdivia
John Valdivia (born July 19, 1975), is an American politician that served as the 34th mayor of San Bernardino, California. Valdivia was unsuccessful in his bid for re-election in the 2022 San Bernardino mayoral election. The 2022 California elections took place on November 8, 2022. The statewide direct primary election was held on June 7, 2022.
