The 2022 Rugby Europe Sevens Conference's are the third and fourth divisions of Rugby Europe's 2022 sevens season. Conference 1 was held in Belgrade, Serbia on 4–5 June 2022, while Conference 2 was held in Paola, Malta on 11–12 June 2022. Rugby Europe
Rugby Europe is the administrative body for rugby union in Europe. It was formed in 1999 to promote, develop, organise, and administer the game of rugby in Europe under the authority of World Rugby (the sport's global governing body). However, it is not responsible for the organisation of the Six Nations Championship or the competitions run by European Professional Club Rugby (the European Rugby Champions Cup and Challenge Cup). The predecessor to Rugby Europe was the Fédération Internationale de Rugby Amateur (FIRA), which was established in 1934 to administer rugby union in Europe outside the authority of the International Rugby Football Board (as World Rugby was then called), and came to spread outside the continent. FIRA agreed to come under the auspices of World Rugby in the 1990s, and appended 'Association Européenne de Rugby' to its name in a return to being a European body. Paola, Malta
Paola ( mt, Raħal Ġdid, it, Casal Nuovo, both meaning "New Town") is a town in the South Eastern Region of Malta, with 8,706 inhabitants as of 2019. The town is a commercial centre in the Southern Harbour area of Malta, about 5 km from the capital Valletta, contiguous to Tarxien and Fgura, with which it forms a single urban area. 2021 Rugby Europe Sevens Conference
The 2021 Rugby Europe Sevens Conference was the third tier tournament of Rugby Europe's 2021 sevens season. It was held in Belgrade, Serbia on 5–6 June 2021, with the top two advancing to the 2022 Sevens Trophy. As winner of the tournament, Bulgaria advances to Trophy tournament in 2021, with second placed Monaco. Tournament consist of three phases, with first two used as qualifications for third where teams played for places. Central European Summer Time (CEST), sometimes referred to as Central European Daylight Time (CEDT), is the standard clock time observed during the period of summer daylight-saving in those European countries which observe Central European Time (CET; UTC+01:00) during the other part of the year. 2023 Rugby Europe Sevens Trophy
The 2023 Rugby Europe Sevens Trophy is the second division of Rugby Europe's 2023 sevens season. This edition is hosted by the cities of Zagreb and Budapest on 16–18 June and 8–9 July. The two highest-placed teams will be promoted to the 2024 Championship series. The two teams with the fewest points will be relegated to the 2024 Conference. Hibernians Stadium
Tony Bezzina Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Paola, Malta. The Hibernians football ground was inaugurated on 9 November 1986. Hibernians became the first Maltese club to have their own football pitch. Nonetheless, Hibernians play most of their league matches in the National Stadium, Ta' Qali, since nearly all the Maltese Premier League matches are played there. The ground is used by Hibernians for their everyday training sessions. It is also used by the Malta Football Association to host matches from the Maltese First Division. The Malta national rugby union team have recently started to use the ground for their international matches.
