2022 Rhode Island Rams Football Team
The 2022 Rhode Island Rams football team represented the University of Rhode Island as a member of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) during the 2022 NCAA Division I FCS football season. The Rams, led by ninth-year head coach Jim Fleming, played their home games at Meade Stadium. Previous season The Rams finished the 2021 season with a record of 7–4 (4–4 in the CAA). They finished in a 5-way tie for fourth place. Rhode Island started the season unranked, but climbed as high as No. 12 after a 5–0 start by week six. Rhode Island would drop off the rankings in week nine after three straight losses against Towson, No. 5 Villanova, and Maine. They would come back into the rankings in week eleven at No. 25, but they dropped off the rankings again the next week with a loss against Elon. The team finished the 2021 season unranked. Colonial Athletic Association
The Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with the NCAA's Division I whose full members are located in East Coast states from Massachusetts to South Carolina. Most of its members are public universities, and the conference is headquartered in Richmond. The CAA was historically a Southern conference until the addition of four schools in the Northeast (of five that joined from rival conference America East) after the turn of the 21st century, which added geographic balance to the conference. The CAA was founded in 1979 as the ECAC South basketball league. It was renamed the Colonial Athletic Association in 1985 when it added championships in other sports (although a number of members maintain ECAC affiliation in some sports). As of 2006, it organizes championships in 21 men's and women's sports. The addition of Northeastern University in 2005 gave the conference the NCAA minimum of six football programs needed to sponsor football. ...

Beirne Stadium
Beirne Stadium is a stadium in Smithfield, Rhode Island. It is the home stadium for the Bryant University college football and men's and women's lacrosse programs. Beirne Stadium will also host USL Championship club Rhode Island FC during their inaugural 2024 season. The stadium holds 4,400 people and was built in 1999. It was renamed from Bulldog Stadium on September 24, 2016. It has also hosted numerous events for Rhode Island High School State Championships. The centerpiece of Bryant University's athletic facilities, Beirne Stadium opened in 1999 as Bulldog Stadium to coincide with the varsity debut of Bryant football. The 2022 Monmouth Hawks football team represented the Monmouth University during the 2022 NCAA Division I FCS football season. The Hawks played their home games at the Kessler Stadium in West Long Branch, New Jersey. The team was coached by 30th-year head coach Kevin Callahan. Brown–Rhode Island Football Rivalry
The Brown–Rhode Island football rivalry is an American college football rivalry between the Brown Bears and Rhode Island Rams. History They have met 106 times. They have played annually since 1909, except for 1918, 1923–24, 1943–45, 1992, and 2020. Since 1981, the Governor's Cup is given to the winner of the game. The Brown-Rhode Island game is played in late September or early October, and the venue alternates between Brown Stadium and Meade Stadium.
