2022 North Dakota State Bison Football Team
The 2022 North Dakota State Bison football team represented North Dakota State University as a member of the Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) during the 2022 NCAA Division I FCS football season. The Bison were led by fourth-year head coach Matt Entz. They played their home games at the Fargodome in Fargo, North Dakota. The Bison finished their regular season with an overall record of 9-2 and 7-1 in MVFC play. NDSU received the number 3 overall seed in the FCS playoffs. The Bison then beat Montana in the second round, Samford in the quarterfinals, and Incarnate Word in the semifinals, before falling to topseed and archrival South Dakota State in the FCS National Championship. This was the program's first loss in the FCS title game, and only their third ever loss in a title game at any level. 2021 Montana State Bobcats Football Team
The 2021 Montana State Bobcats football team represented Montana State University as a member of the Big Sky Conference during the 2021 NCAA Division I FCS football season. The Bobcats were led by first-year head coach Brent Vigen and played their home games at Bobcat Stadium in Bozeman, Montana. The Bobcats finished their regular season with a 9–2 record (7–1 in conference), losing only to Wyoming (an FBS team) and Montana. They were seeded eighth in the FCS postseason tournament and received a first-round bye; they then defeated UT Martin, Sam Houston State, and South Dakota State to advance to the final match of the tournament. DakotaDome
The DakotaDome is an indoor multi-purpose stadium in the north central United States, located on the campus of the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, South Dakota. Opened in 1979 at a cost of $8.2 million, the 9,100-seat venue is the home of the South Dakota Coyotes for football, swimming and diving, and track and field. The approximate elevation is above sea level. The DakotaDome was also the home site for the NAIA school Briar Cliff University football team from 2013 until 2017, when they re-located 25 miles to the southeast to Sioux City, Iowa, which is where their campus is located.
