2022 Nornickel Curling Cup
The 2022 Nornickel Curling Cup, the sixth edition of the traditional World Curling Tour event, was held from May 26 to 29 at the Taimyr Ice Arena in Dudinka, Russia. For all the teams competing, it was their final event of the 2021–22 curling season. The WCT Arctic Cup is usually a tour event that attracts teams from all over the world. However, due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the 2022 edition of the event was contested between six Russian teams, including members from Belarus and Italy, three men's and three women's. Leading the field were the two Russian Olympic teams that represented the ROC at the 2022 Winter Olympics, Sergey Glukhov and Alina Kovaleva. The women's Olympic team from the 2014 Winter Olympics was also brought back together to play in this event, skipped by Anna Sidorova, as well as the men's team skip Alexey Stukalskiy. Dudinka
Dudinka (russian: Дуди́нка; Nenets: Тут'ын, ''Tutꜧyn'') is a town on the Yenisei River and the administrative center of Taymyrsky Dolgano-Nenetsky District of Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia. It used to be the administrative center of Taymyr Autonomous Okrug, which was merged into Krasnoyarsk Krai on January 1, 2007. Alina Romanovna Kovaleva (russian: Алина Романовна Ковалёва; born 18 February 1993) is a Russian curler from Saint Petersburg. Her major achievement to date was winning the 2015 European Curling Championships as alternate. Kovaleva is Merited Master of Sports of Russia (2016). Career Kovaleva practiced curling in her school years in her hometown Slantsy. She then moved to St. Petersburg to the Sports School of Olympic Reserve, No. 2. After three years of curling, she and her coach Alexey Tselousov became national champions and silver medalists at the 2011 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship. Ekaterina Vladimirovna Galkina (russian: Екатери́на Влади́мировна Га́лкина; born 10 August 1988 in Moscow) is a Russian curler. At the 2006 Winter Olympics, in Turin, Italy, she was part of Ludmila Privivkova's team. A year later this team won the 2006 European Curling Championships. She has studied Management and International Relations at the Russian State University for the Humanities. In January 2010 Galkina was officially named to the Russian Olympic Team. She and her teammates represented Russia at the 2014 Ford World Women's Curling Championship held in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, from 15 to 23 March. Nkeirouka Khilarievna "Kira" Ezekh (russian: Нкеирука (Кира) Хилариевна Езех; born October 17, 1983) is a Russian curler. She currently skips her own team out of Saint Petersburg.
