2022 NAIA Football Season
The 2022 NAIA football season is the component of the 2022 college football season organized by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) in the United States. The regular season began on August 25 and culminated on November 12. The playoffs, known as the NAIA Football National Championship, will begin on November 19 and culminate with the championship game on December 17 at Durham County Memorial Stadium in Durham, North Carolina. Durham County Memorial Stadium is an 8,500-seat multi-purpose stadium located in Durham, North Carolina. Originally built in 1958, the stadium underwent significant renovations in 2010 that updated the facility to include an artificial turf lined for soccer, football and lacrosse and a track and field facility with an eight lane track. Durham County Memorial Stadium is the home field of Northern Durham High School Football, Carolina Flyers of the AUDL and Tobacco Road FC of USL-2. The stadium is also used as a special events facility hosting local, regional and national events. The KCU Knights football program represents Kentucky Christian University in college football. They are football-only members of Mid-South Conference of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The Knights have played their home games at KCU Field since the inception of their football team in 2008. The Knights are currently coached by Corey Fipps. History Beginning in 2008, the Knights began competing in football in the Mid-South Conference (MSC).
