2022 Montana Floods
In June 2022, the U.S. state of Montana was hit by heavy, damaging floods in multiple major Drainage basin, watersheds including the Yellowstone River. Heavy rain and melting snow over the weekend June 10–13 caused large areas of Yellowstone National Park to be evacuated. On June 14, the water plant in Billings, Montana, Billings was temporarily shut down. Many houses were damaged as a result, and a number of roads and bridges were destroyed by floodwaters. The National Weather Service said that heavy rain on top of melting mountain snow pushed the Yellowstone River, Yellowstone, Stillwater River (Stillwater County, Montana), Stillwater and Clarks Fork Yellowstone River, Clarks Fork rivers to record levels and triggered rock and mudslides. The Montana National Guard said that 87 people had been airlifted by helicopter to safety. Jefferson River

Ruby River
The Ruby River is a tributary of the Beaverhead River, approximately 76 mi (122 km) long, in southwestern Montana in the United States. It rises in the Beaverhead National Forest in southwestern Madison County between the Snowcrest Range and the Gravelly Range. Ennis, Montana
Ennis is a town in Madison County, Montana, United States, in the southwestern part of the state. The population was 917 at the 2020 census. U.S. Route 287 runs through town, following the Madison River as it descends from the town of West Yellowstone. History In 1863, gold was discovered in Alder Gulch. This brought on "the rush." Two months later, William Ennis homesteaded the site along the Madison River that was soon to become the town of Ennis, his namesake. In 1886, a mystery creature was noted for making livestock kills in the Madison Valley. A local rancher, Israel Ammon Hutchins, finally shot and killed the beast, after accidentally shooting one of his cattle, which was on the other side of some brush. Madison River

Rock Creek (Montana)
Rock Creek is a river in Missoula and Granite County, Montana. Rock Creek is a tributary of the Clark Fork river. The river's headwaters are in Lolo National Forest near Phillipsburg, Montana. The river roughly parallels the Sapphire Mountains and enters the Clark Fork of the Columbia River near Clinton, Montana. Sapphires are found along the river. Nye is an unincorporated community in Stillwater County, Montana, Stillwater County, Montana, United States. As of 2010 United States Census, 2010, the population was 272. Demographics History Originally a copper mining camp, the town sprang into existence when Jack Nye and the Hedges brothers staked their claim. Mining continues to be an important part of the area's economy. Nye's first post office was established on October 6, 1887, with Thomas Ross as its first postmaster.
