2022 Loudoun United FC Season
The 2022 Loudoun United FC season was Loudoun United FC's fourth season of existence, their fourth in the second-division of American soccer, and their fourth in the USL Championship. The 2022 marked an improvement in United's overall record, winning twice as many matches as last season. Despite this, the club still finished with a losing record, and failed to qualify for the playoffs for their fourth consecutive season. Notable offseason pickups included Tyler Freeman, who lead Loudoun in goals during the season. Other major pickups included Rio Hope-Gund, Carson Vom Steeg, and Skage Simonsen. Loudoun United FC
Loudoun United FC is an American professional soccer team based in Leesburg, Virginia. The team was founded in 2018 as the reserve team of D.C. United and made its debut in the USL Championship in 2019. History On July 18, 2018, the team was officially announced by USL and D.C. United as were the team's name, colors and crest. Loudoun United FC replaced Richmond Kickers as D.C. United's USL affiliate. Colors and badge Loudoun United FC colors are black, red and white, the same as parent club D.C. United. The club's crest contains the red-and-white gyronny seen in the flag and coat of arms of Loudoun County, as well as a winged horse in homage to both D.C. Jackson Paul Lee Hopkins (born July 1, 2004) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for Major League Soccer club D.C. United. Club career Hopkins spent time with the Virginia Development Academy, before having spells with both the D.C. United and New York Red Bulls academy teams. On July 27, 2021, Hopkins appeared for D.C. Grant Lillard (born December 5, 1995) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a defender. Early life Youth Lillard moved to Hinsdale, Illinois and enrolled at Hinsdale Central, playing soccer for the Chicago Fire Academy (U16 and U18). Azaad Liadi (born May 14, 1998) is an American soccer player who plays as a winger for Lexington SC in USL League One. Career College Liadi attended Saginaw Valley State University for three years, making 56 appearances and scoring 11 goals for their varsity soccer team. 2021 USL Championship Playoffs
The 2021 USL Championship Playoffs (branded as the 2021 USL Championship Playoffs presented by TwinSpires for sponsorship reasons) was the post-season championship of the 2021 USL Championship. It was the eleventh edition of the USL Championship Playoffs. The playoffs began on November 5, and concluded with the USL Championship Final on November 28. Tampa Bay Rowdies won the regular season with 71 standings points. They were beaten in the Final by Orange County SC, which won its first league title.
