2022 LEC Season
The 2022 LEC season is the fourth year of the ''League of Legends'' European Championship (LEC), a professional esports league for the MOBA PC game ''League of Legends'', following its rebranding in late 2018. This is also the final LEC season for Rogue, as they will merge with KOI for the 2023 season. League Of Legends European Championship
The ''League of Legends'' EMEA Championship (LEC) is the professional ''League of Legends'' esports league run by Riot Games in the EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) region, in which ten teams compete. Each annual season of play is divided into two splits, spring and summer, both consisting of nine weeks of round-robin tournament play, which then conclude with play-off tournaments between the top six teams. At the end of the season, the top performing teams qualify for the annual ''League of Legends'' World Championship. The LEC represents the highest level of ''League of Legends'' play in the EMEA. With the exception of some touring events, all games of the LEC are played live at Riot Games' studio in Adlershof, Berlin, Germany. G2 Esports (G2) is a European esports organization headquartered in Berlin, Germany, with players competing in ''League of Legends'', ''Valorant'', '' Counter-Strike: Global Offensive'', '' Hearthstone'', ''Rocket League'', ''Rainbow Six Siege'', and ''iRacing''. Perkz
Luka Perković (born 30 September 1998), better known as Perkz (previously stylized as PERKZ and before that as PerkZ), is a Croatian professional ''League of Legends'' player for Team Vitality. From 2015 to 2020, Perkz was a member of G2 Esports, when the team became the first European organization to win the Mid-Season Invitational in 2019. He reached the World Championship final in 2019, and is the only player to ever win eight LEC titles. In November 2020, Perkz left G2 to join LCS organization Cloud9 for the 2021 season. He is widely regarded as one of the best western players in League of Legends history. Career 2014 season Perkz's first professional team was GSI Gaming, which he joined midway through the 2013 season. Rogue is a professional esports organization with teams competing across several different titles in Europe and the United States. It has two ''League of Legends'' teams based in Europe: a main team that participates in the League of Legends European Championship (LEC), and an academy team that participates in Poland's national league, the Ultraliga. Team Rogue was founded by Franklin Villarreal, Derek Nelson and Carson Knuth in 2016, and acquired by now parent and management company ReKTGlobal and its partners in 2018. ReKTGlobal also owns the Call of Duty League team, the London Royal Ravens. The organization is co-owned by prominent DJ Steve Aoki and YouTuber Vikram "Vikkstar123" Barn. Rasmus Borregaard Winther (born 17 November 1999), better known as Caps, is a Danish ''League of Legends'' player for G2 Esports. Career 2018 season During the 2018 EU LCS Season, Caps managed to win both the Spring and Summer Split with his then team, Fnatic. In both splits, he secured a spot on the 1st All-Pro Team. Additionally, he managed to win the title of most valuable player (MVP) in the Summer Split. At the 2018 World Championship, Fnatic was seeded into Group D alongside 100 Thieves, Invictus Gaming, and G-Rex. They picked up five wins in the group, allowing them to advance into the knockout stage of the tournament. In the quarterfinals, Fnatic defeated EDward Gaming by 3–1.
