The 2022 India Open (officially known as the Yonex-Sunrise India Open 2022 for sponsorship reasons) was a badminton tournament that took place at the K. D. Jadhav Indoor Hall in New Delhi, India, from 11 to 16 January 2022. It had a total prize pool of US$400,000. Tournament The 2022 India Open was the first tournament of the 2022 BWF World Tour and was part of the India Open championships, which had been held since 1973. Jadhav Indoor Hall, formerly known as the Indraprashtha Stadium and Indira Gandhi Arena (officially Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium), is located at the Indraprastha Estate in the eastern region of New Delhi. BWF World Tour Super 500
The BWF World Tour is a Badminton World Federation#Grade 2, Grade 2 badminton tournament series, sanctioned by Badminton World Federation (BWF). It is a competition open to the top world ranked players in singles (men's and women's) and doubles (men's, women's and mixed). The competition was announced on 19 March 2017 and came into effect starting from 2018 BWF World Tour schedule, 2018, replacing the BWF Super Series, which was held from 2007 to 2017. The BWF World Tour are divided into six levels, namely World Tour Finals, Super 1000, Super 750, Super 500, and Super 300 in order (part of the HSBC World Tour). Ng Tze Yong
Ng Tze Yong ( zh, 黄智勇, p=; born on 16 May 2000) is a Malaysian badminton player. Ng won a bronze medal in the 2021 Sudirman Cup. He also helped his team to win gold at the Badminton Asia Team Championships and 2022 Commonwealth Games. Early life and background Ng was born in Johor Bahru to Angela Tan and badminton coach, Wilson Ng Soon Tuan. He is the eldest of three siblings. Brian Yang (born 25 November 2001) is a Canadian badminton player. He was an integral part of the Team Alpha that won the mixed team relay gold at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics. Career In 2016, he won three gold medals at the U–19 Pan Am Junior Championships, winning the boys' doubles, mixed doubles, and team events. Yang won his first senior international title at 2017 Suriname International in the men's singles. He is the former men's singles world champion, winning the title at the 2021 BWF World Championships, becoming the first Singaporean to achieve this feat. Kantaphon Wangcharoen ( th, กันตภณ หวังเจริญ; born 18 September 1998) is a Thai badminton player.
