2022 Imola Formula 3 Round
The 2022 Imola FIA Formula 3 round was a motor racing event held on 23 and 24 April 2022 at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari, Imola, Italy. It is the second round of the 2022 FIA Formula 3 Championship, and is held in support of the 2022 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. Driver changes Multiple driver changes took place for the second round at the Imola Circuit. Trident driver Jonny Edgar pulled out of the championship after being diagnosed with Crohn's disease and was replaced by former HWA Racelab driver Oliver Rasmussen. Federico Malvestiti returned to the championship after a year's absence, replacing Niko Kari at Jenzer Motorsport. Charouz Racing System driver Ayrton Simmons vacated his seat and was replaced by David Schumacher, who previously raced with the team in 2020. Autodromo Internazionale Enzo E Dino Ferrari
The Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari, better known as Imola, is a motor racing circuit in the town of Imola, in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy, east of Bologna. It is one of the few major international circuits to run in an anti-clockwise direction. The circuit is named after Ferrari's late founder, Enzo Ferrari (1898–1988), and his son, Alfredo "Dino" Ferrari (1932–1956). Before Enzo's death, it was called Autodromo Dino Ferrari. The circuit has an FIA Grade One licence. Imola was the venue for the San Marino Grand Prix between 1981 and 2006. During this period, two Grands Prix were held in Italy every year, with the Italian Grand Prix taking place at Monza, so the Imola race was named after the nearby state. Imola also hosted the 1980 Italian Grand Prix in place of Monza. 2022 FIA Formula 3 Championship
The 2022 FIA Formula 3 Championship is a motor racing championship for Formula 3 cars that is sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). The championship is the thirteenth season of Formula 3 racing and the fourth season run under the FIA Formula 3 Championship moniker. It is an open-wheel racing category that serves as the third tier of formula racing in the FIA Global Pathway. The category is run in support of selected rounds of the 2022 FIA Formula One World Championship. As the championship is a spec series, all teams and drivers that compete in the championship run the same car, the Dallara F3 2019. For the 2022 season, a new chassis was to be introduced, but this change has been halted by the cost-cutting measures introduced because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Zak O'Sullivan (born 6 February 2005) is a British racing driver of Irish descent who is set to compete in the 2023 FIA Formula 3 Championship for Prema Racing. Grégoire Saucy (born 26 December 1999) is a Swiss racing driver and the current champion of the Formula Regional European Championship. He will race with ART Grand Prix in the 2023 FIA Formula 3 Championship. Juan Manuel Correa Borja (born August 9, 1999) is an American-Ecuadorian racing driver who races under an American license and is set to compete in the 2023 FIA Formula 2 Championship with Van Amersfoort Racing. 2020 FIA Formula 3 Championship
The 2020 FIA Formula 3 Championship was the eleventh season of the third-tier of Formula One feeder championship and also second season under the moniker of FIA Formula 3 Championship, a multi-event motor racing championship for single-seat open-wheel formula racing cars. The championship featured drivers competing in 3.4-litre Formula 3 racing cars which conformed to the technical regulations, or formula, of the championship. David Schumacher (born 23 October 2001) is a German racing driver, son of former Formula One driver Ralf Schumacher, nephew of seven-time Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher, and cousin of former Formula One driver Mick Schumacher. Niko Kari (born 6 October 1999) is a Finnish racing driver who last raced in the FIA Formula 3 Championship with Jenzer Motorsport. He won his first single-seater championship, the 2015 SMP F4 Championship, in his debut year in car racing and is a former member of the Red Bull Junior Team. Federico Malvestiti
Federico Malvestiti (born 12 June 2000) is an Italian racing driver who most recently competed in the FIA F3 Championship for Jenzer Motorsport. He is a race winner in the Italian F4 Championship. Career Karting Malvestiti was born in Monza, and began karting in 2010 in events such as Easykart International Grand Final and Trofeo Nazionale Easykart. Italian F4 Malvestiti's first outing in single seaters was in Italian F4 in 2015 with Antonelli Motorsport where he competed in two rounds, finishing no higher than 12th. In 2016 Malvestiti competed full time with Antonelli Motorsport where he scored points twice and finished 25th in the standings. Malvestiti's 2nd season in 2017 saw him drive for Jenzer Motorsport. Oliver Rasmussen
Oliver Rasmussen (born 6 November 2000) is a Danish racing driver currently competing in the World Endurance Championship for Jota. Early career Italian F4 2018 Rasmussen started his single-seater career off with Jenzer Motorsport at the opening round of the 2018 Italian F4 Championship. Rasmussen completed the first ten races with 4 retirements and a best finish of 11th, a string of 3 retirements in a row starting at Monza's 2nd race left Rasmussen the only one of the 6 Jenzer drivers without a point. In race 2 at the Misano round a season best finish of 8th ended Rasmussen's points drought, things were looking good for him until the 3rd race he sustained a heavy crash with Prema driver Amna Al Qubaisi.
