2022 Hula Bowl
The 2022 Hula Bowl was a postseason college football all-star game played on January 15, 2022, with kickoff at 12:00 noon EST, at Bounce House in Orlando, Florida. It was the first all-star contest of the 2021–22 bowl games and, while not restricted to FBS players, one of the final games of the 2021 FBS football season. Television coverage was provided by CBS Sports Network. This was the first playing of the Hula Bowl outside of Hawaii, due to Aloha Stadium near Honolulu being closed for renovations. The game rostered players into Aina and Kai teams, the words for land and sea in the Hawaiian language. Coaches Team Aina will be led by Mike Smith, former head coach of the Atlanta Falcons, while Team Kai will be led by Brian Billick, former head coach of the Baltimore Ravens. FBC Mortgage Stadium (formerly known as Bright House Networks Stadium and Spectrum Stadium, also known as the Bounce House) is an American football stadium located in Orlando, Florida, United States, on the main campus of the University of Central Florida. It is the home field of the UCF Knights of NCAA Division I FBS college football. The stadium opened in 2007 as a replacement for Camping World Stadium (then known as the Citrus Bowl) in Downtown Orlando, where the Knights had played since their inaugural season in 1979. The steel and brick-clad stadium was designed by 360 Architecture and constructed in 18 months. The stadium underwent an $8 million renovation following the 2014 season. The Wayne Densch Center for Student-Athlete Leadership was built on the east facade of the stadium, and a party deck was added to the east stands. Anthony Almein Brown Jr. (born July 27, 1998) is an American football quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Boston College and Oregon. Carnell Lake
Carnell Augustino Lake (born July 15, 1967) is an American former professional football player and coach who is the defensive backs coach for the Tampa Bay Bandits of the United States Football League (USFL). He was a safety and cornerback in the National Football League (NFL). He is a member of the NFL 1990s All-Decade Team. He was the cornerbacks coach for the UCLA Bruins under head coach Rick Neuheisel in 2009 before leaving after one season for family reasons. Bob Sanders (American Football Coach)
Bob Sanders (born December 5, 1953) is an American football coach. He was previously the defensive coordinator for the Orlando Apollos of the Alliance of American Football (AAF). He coached the Buffalo Bills from 2009 to 2012 after coaching for four years with the Green Bay Packers, four years with the Miami Dolphins and 11 years at the University of Florida. He was let go by the Packers following the 2008 season. Sanders was hired on January 29, 2009, by the Buffalo Bills as defensive line coach. Bill Johnson (born June 23, 1955) is an American football coach and former defensive lineman who is the defensive line coach for the Houston Roughnecks of the XFL. Gerald Brown is an American football coach who was the Atlanta Falcons running backs coach from 2008 to 2014, and currently works as an analyst for the University of Tennessee. During his time with the Falcons, he coached two Pro Bowl selections, Michael Turner and Ovie Mughelli. Kevin Warren Sumlin (born August 3, 1964) is an American football coach who is the head coach and general manager for the Houston Gamblers of the United States Football League (USFL). Sumlin served as the head football coach at the University of Houston from 2008 to 2011, Texas A&M University from 2012 to 2017, and at the University of Arizona from 2018 to 2020.
