The 2022 Holiday Bowl was a college football bowl game played on December 28, 2022, at Petco Park in San Diego, California. The 43rd annual Holiday Bowl, the game featured the 2022 Oregon Ducks football team, Oregon Ducks from the Pac-12 Conference and the 2022 North Carolina Tar Heels football team, North Carolina Tar Heels from the Atlantic Coast Conference. The game began at 5:06 p.m. Pacific Time Zone, PST and was aired on Fox College Football, Fox. It was one of the 2022–23 NCAA football bowl games, 2022–23 bowl games concluding the 2022 NCAA Division I FBS football season, 2022 FBS football season. Sponsored by San Diego County Credit Union, the game was officially known as the San Diego County Credit Union Holiday Bowl. Petco Park
Petco Park is a baseball stadium in Downtown San Diego, California. It is the home ballpark of Major League Baseball's San Diego Padres, and has also been used as a venue for concerts, soccer, golf, and rugby. The ballpark is located between Seventh and 10th Avenues south of J Street. The park opened in 2004, replacing Qualcomm Stadium as the home stadium of the Padres. The southern side of the stadium is bounded by San Diego Trolley light rail tracks along the north side of Harbor Drive, which serve the adjacent San Diego Convention Center. 2022 North Carolina Tar Heels Football Team
The 2022 North Carolina Tar Heels football team represented the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a member of the Coastal Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) for the 2022 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Tar Heels were led by head coach Mack Brown, who was in the fourth season of his second stint at North Carolina and 14th overall season at the university. Bo Nix
Bo Nix (born February 25, 2000) is an American football quarterback for the Oregon Ducks. Nix played with the Auburn Tigers from 2019 to 2021 before transferring to Oregon in 2022. High school career Nix was born on February 25, 2000, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. During his career at Pinson Valley High School, Nix accumulated over 12,000 total offensive yards and 161 touchdowns. He also won Alabama's Mr. Football Award after his senior season. College career As a true freshman, Nix was named the starting quarterback for Auburn's 2019 season opener against Oregon. He led Auburn to a 27–21 come-back win against the Oregon Ducks at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on August 31, 2019. Drake Maye (born August 30, 2002) is an American football quarterback for the North Carolina Tar Heels. High school career Maye was born on August 30, 2002, in Charlotte, North Carolina. He attended and played high school football for Myers Park High School in Charlotte, where he was named MaxPreps North Carolina player of the year. He was a four-star prospect and originally committed to Alabama before flipping to North Carolina.
