2022 German Masters
The 2022 German Masters (officially the 2022 BildBet German Masters) was a professional ranking snooker tournament that took place from 26 to 30 January 2022 at the Tempodrom in Berlin, Germany. The tournament was the ninth ranking event of the 2021–22 snooker season and the 16th edition of the German Masters, first held in 1995 as the German Open. The fifth of eight tournaments in the European Series, it was the first professional snooker tournament held outside the United Kingdom in almost two years, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Judd Trump was the defending champion, having defeated Jack Lisowski 9–2 in the 2021 final. However, Trump lost 1–5 in the quarter-finals to Zhao Xintong, who went on to meet Yan Bingtao in the final. The 1995 German Open was a professional ranking snooker tournament that took place between 3 and 10 December 1995 at the Messe Frankfurt in Frankfurt, Germany. It was the first ranking event held in Germany. John Higgins won the inaugural event defeating Ken Doherty 9–3 in the final. Summary The tournament involved the top 16 players in the world ranking who were joined by 16 qualifiers and 4 wild-card players. The four lowest ranked qualifiers played the wild-card players, winning all their four matches and advancing to the last-32. Four of the top-16 players lost in the last-32 round, including Ronnie O'Sullivan and Jimmy White. Further top-ranked players were beaten in the last-16 stage, including Steve Davis, John Parrott and James Wattana. 2020 European Masters (2019–20 Season)
The January 2020 European Masters was a professional ranking snooker tournament that took place from 22 to 26 January 2020 in Dornbirn, Austria. Organised by the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA), it was the ninth ranking event of the 2019–20 season, following the 2019 UK Championship, and preceding the 2020 German Masters. It was the twenty-first edition of the European Masters first held in 1989. The event was sponsored by betting company BetVictor. Qualifying took place from 17 to 19 December 2019 in Barnsley, England. The 1989 Rothmans Grand Prix was a professional ranking snooker tournament held at the Hexagon Theatre in Reading, England. Steve Davis won in the final 10–0 against Dean Reynolds. Steve Davis
Steve Davis (born 22 August 1957) is an English retired professional snooker player who is currently a Sports commentator, commentator, musician, DJ, and author. He is best known for dominating professional snooker during the 1980s, when he reached eight World Snooker Championship finals in nine years, won six world titles, and held the List of world number one snooker players, world number one ranking for seven consecutive seasons. Xiao Guodong (, born 10 February 1989) is a Chinese professional snooker player. He turned professional in 2007 after winning the Asian Under-21 Championships. Ding Junhui (; born 1 April 1987) is a Chinese professional snooker player. He is the most successful Asian player in the history of the sport. Throughout his career, he has won 14 major ranking titles, including three UK Championships (2005, 2009, 2019). He has twice reached the final of the Masters, winning once in 2011. The 2013 Bank of Communications Shanghai Masters was a professional ranking snooker tournament that took place between 16 and 22 September 2013 at the Shanghai Grand Stage in Shanghai, China. It was the third ranking event of the 2013/2014 season. John Higgins was the defending champion, but he lost 1–5 against Mark Davis in the last 16. Ding Junhui won his seventh ranking title by defeating Xiao Guodong 10–6 in the final. The 2006 Royal London Watches Grand Prix was a professional ranking snooker tournament that took place between 21 and 29 October 2006 at the A.E.C.C. in Aberdeen, Scotland. Jamie Cope
Jamie Cope (born 12 September 1985) is an English former professional snooker player. A finalist in two ranking tournaments, the 2006 Grand Prix and the 2007 China Open, Cope also reached the semi-finals of the 2011 Masters. He reached his highest ranking, 13th, in September 2010, but thereafter developed a tremor which has been attributed to being either an essential tremor or the yips, which makes his cue arm shake. This condition caused Cope to slip markedly down the rankings in the 2010s, culminating in his relegation from the main tour at the end of the 2016–17 season. Neil Robertson
Neil Robertson (born 11 February 1982) is an Australian professional snooker player who is a former world champion and former world number one. The only Australian to have won a ranking event, he is also the only player from outside the United Kingdom to have completed snooker's Triple Crown, having won the World Championship in 2010, the Masters in 2012 and 2022, and the UK Championship in 2013, 2015 and 2020. Jack Lisowski
Jack Adam Lisowski (born 25 June 1991) is an English professional snooker player from Churchdown, Gloucestershire. He turned professional in 2010 by finishing first in the 2009/2010 PIOS rankings. A left-handed player, he is known for his attacking style of play. Lisowski has reached six ranking finals, but has been runner-up each time, losing three finals to Judd Trump, two to Neil Robertson, and one to Mark Selby.
