2022 General Tire Delivers 200
The 2022 General Tire Delivers 200 was the tenth stock car race of the 2022 ARCA Menards Series season, and the 37th iteration of the event. The race was held on Friday, July 22, 2022, in Long Pond, Pennsylvania at Pocono Raceway, a 2.5 mile (4.0 km) permanent triangular-shaped racetrack. The race was decreased from 80 laps to 64 laps, due to increasing darkness. Taylor Gray, driving for David Gilliland Racing, would win the race, after leading the race when the final caution came out with 16 laps to go, which was a spin from Jesse Love. Gray would also lead 38 laps. This was Gray's third career ARCA Menards Series, and his third of the season. To fill out the podium, Nick Sanchez, driving for Rev Racing, and Brandon Jones, driving for Joe Gibbs Racing, would finish 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Taylor Gray (racing Driver)
Taylor Gray (born March 25, 2005) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, driving the No. 17 Toyota Tundra for TRICON Garage. Racing career Early career Gray made his debut in a late model in March 2018 at age 12, driving for Lee Faulk Racing and Development at Hickory Motor Speedway in the Paramount Auto Group Limited Late Model Series. He had an impressive showing, finishing sixth in the race. Two months later, he returned to Hickory in the same series and won his first late model race after running in either first or second place for the entire race. Nicholas A. Sanchez (born June 10, 2001) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, driving the No. 2 Chevrolet Silverado for Rev Racing. He is the 2022 ARCA Menards Series champion. Racing career Sanchez began racing at the age of twelve in go-karts at his home track of Homestead-Miami Speedway. Sanchez tried out for NASCAR's Drive for Diversity program and was accepted into it, and as a result, was given a ride with Rev Racing in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series as well as the then-NASCAR K&N Pro Series East in 2019 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, 2019. South Boston Speedway
South Boston Speedway, or "SoBo", is a short track located just outside South Boston, Virginia. SoBo is located approximately east of another area familiar to most NASCAR fans, Martinsville. It is owned by Mattco, Inc., the Mattioli family trust that owns Pocono Raceway, with general manager Chase Brashears operating the track, replacing Cathy Rice who retired in 2021 after serving in that role for 21 years. NASCAR's three national series have raced at the track, though the Cup Series has not done so since 1971, while the Busch Series last raced here in 2000.
