2022 GT Cup Championship
The 2022 GT Cup Championship was the 16th GT Cup Championship, a British sports car championship. The season began on 9 April at Donington Park and ended on 9 October at Snetterton Circuit, after twenty-six races held over seven meetings. The championship's sixth round was featured on Top Gear Season 33, Episode 4 demonstrating their scratch-built race team. Calendar The calendar was announced on 21 September 2021. GT Cup Championship
The GT Cup Championship is a sports car racing series based in the United Kingdom. It was founded by Marc Haynes in 2007. The championship supported the short-lived British LMP3 Cup in 2017, following the series to Spa-Francorchamps where it participated alongside the field of prototypes. It will support the 2021 GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup at Brands Hatch on 1–2 May. GT Cup Championship events consist of 1 free practice session, 1 qualifying session and 2 races per day; the first being a 25-minute sprint and the second being a 50-minute endurance race with driver changes. Porsche 935
The Porsche 935 was a race car developed and manufactured by German automaker Porsche. Introduced in 1976 as the factory racing version of the Porsche 930, 911 (930) Turbo and prepared for Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile, FIA-Group 5 (racing), Group 5 rules, it was an evolution of the Porsche Carrera RSR, Carrera RSR 2.1 turbo prototype, the second place overall finisher in the 1974 24 Hours of Le Mans. MARC Cars Australia is an Australian motor racing manufacturer and team, who compete in global sports car and endurance racing events, mostly in their own GTC prototype cars. The Ford Modular engine is Ford Motor Company's overhead camshaft (OHC) V8 and V10 gasoline-powered small block engine family. Despite popular belief that the Modular engine family received its moniker from the sharing of engine parts across numerous Ford vehicle platforms, in reality, the Modular engine family was named as such by Ford Motor Company for the new "modular approach" to the setup of tooling and casting stations in the Windsor and Romeo engine manufacturing plants. Brabham BT62
The Brabham BT62 is a mid-engine track-day car produced by Australian car manufacturer Brabham Automotive. It was introduced in 2018 with deliveries expected to start at the end of that year. A planned production of only 70 cars is intended, in honour of the company's 70 year heritage in racing. Specifications The BT62 is powered by a mid-mounted 5.4-litre naturally-aspirated V8 engine that is based on the Ford V8 modular engine architecture of American manufacturer Ford Motor Company. The engine has been extensively modified and has a power output of at 7,400 rpm and of torque at 6,200 rpm, giving the car a power-to-weight ratio of 653 hp per ton. Ross Wylie
Ross Wylie (born 15 September 1991) is a Scottish racing driver. He started his motor racing career contesting the 2004 Mini Max Kart Championship, becoming a multiple kart champion in his native Scotland over the next eight years, before moving up to car racing in 2012. Having competed in the Volkswagen Scirocco R-Cup and Volkswagen UK Racing Cup in 2013, he won the British GT4 Championship the following year, co-driving the Beechdean Motorsport Aston Martin Vantage with Jake Giddings. The McLaren MP4-12C, later known simply as the McLaren 12C, is a sports car that was designed and manufactured by McLaren Automotive. It was the first ever production car wholly designed and built by McLaren, and their first production road car produced since the McLaren F1, which ended production in 1998. A V6 engine is a six-cylinder piston engine where the cylinders share a common crankshaft and are arranged in a V configuration.
