2022 Forge FC Season
The 2022 Forge FC season was the fourth season in the history of Forge FC. In addition to the Canadian Premier League, the club competed in the 2022 Canadian Championship and the previously delayed final of the 2020 Canadian Championship. Forge FC began its season in February by competing against Mexican club Cruz Azul in the CONCACAF Champions League, becoming the first Canadian Premier League club to play in the competition. On October 30, Forge FC defeated Atlético Ottawa 2–0 in the 2022 Canadian Premier League Final to claim their third CPL title. Forge FC is a Canadian professional soccer club based in Hamilton, Ontario, that competes in the Canadian Premier League, the top tier of Canadian soccer. The club plays its home matches at Tim Hortons Field. Forge FC joined the CPL in 2019 as one of the league's seven inaugural teams. The club won the first two championships of the Canadian Premier League, winning back-to-back league titles in 2019 and 2020 before winning a third title in 2022. Rezart Rama (born 4 December 2000) is a professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Kategoria Superiore club Egnatia. Born in Greece, he has represented Albania at youth international levels. Early life Rama was born in Athens, Greece, and grew up in neighbouring Piraeus. Garven-Michée Metusala (born 31 December 1999) is a professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Forge FC. Born in Canada, he plays for the Haiti national team. Early life Born in Terrebonne, Canada, to a Haitian mother and a Congolese father, Metusala began his youth career with Étoiles de L'Est. In 2013, he joined the Montreal Impact Academy, playing there until 2016. Afterwards, he returned to Étoiles de L'Est, where he also played at the senior amateur level with the club in the Ligue de soccer élite du Québec.
