Tobias Arlt
Tobias Arlt (born 2 June 1987) is a German luger who has competed since 1991, acting as a backdriver. He won a silver medal in the men's doubles event at the 2008 FIL World Luge Championships, a silver and a bronze at the 2010 FIL European Luge Championships, a gold medal at the FIL World Luge Championships 2013, and two gold medals at his debut Olympics, the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. Biography Tobias Arlt was born on 2 June 1987 in Berchtesgaden, West Germany. He began luging at the age of four, beginning to compete in 1991; his national debut was in 2006. Arlt is a backdriver in luging, and his partner for doubles is Tobias Wendl. As a team, they have several nicknames, including "The Bayern-Express" and "The Two Tobis". At the 2008 FIL World Luge Championship in Oberhof, Germany, in the men's doubles, Arlt won a silver medal. Roman Alexandrovich Repilov (russian: Роман Александрович Репилов; born 5 March 1996) is a Russian luger. Competitive career Representing Russia at the 2015–16 Luge World Cup, Repilov placed second in the sprint event in Calgary with a time of 30.279. On 2 December 2016, he came in fifth in the Lake Placid event of the Men's Singles 2016-17 Luge World Cup, but set a new Lake Placid track start record of 6.359 seconds. Then later in the same season he triumphed in the men's singles event at Park City, Utah, came in second twice, in Winterberg, Germany and Sigulda, Latvia and won two men's singles sprint events in Park City and Sigulda. Tatiana Ivanovna Ivanova (russian: Татьяна Ивановна Иванова; born 16 February 1991) is a Russian luger who has competed since 2000. Johannes Ludwig (born 14 February 1986) is an Olympic gold medal-winning German luger who has competed since 1996. He won a bronze medal in the Team relay event at the FIL European Luge Championships 2010 in Sigulda.
